Is ‘American Idol’ Judges’ Advice Sabotaging The Finalists? – “They are hurting the contestants with confusing advice,” said MJ Santilli, founder of the popular “Idol’ blog MJsbigblog. “What makes it worse are the ‘battles’ between the panel and mentor Jimmy Iovine. The finalists are often hearing one thing in the studio with Jimmy and his guest mentors, and something entirely different from the judges.” – Read more at MTV

CENTER STAGE AT MURDER TRIAL – Jennifer Hudson takes center stage in a questionnaire that potential jurors are being asked to fill out to determine if they will be allowed to decide whether or not a man is guilty in the slayings of the singer’s mother, brother and nephew. Nine of the 66 questions released to the press Friday dealt with Hudson’s career in movies, television and as an author. Prospective jurors were asked if they have ever watched “American Idol,” the television show that brought Hudson to fame, or if they saw “Dreamgirls,” the motion picture for which she won an Academy Award. They also were asked if they’d ever seen her perform or read her book, “I Got This: How I Changed my Ways and Lost What Weighed Me Down.” – Read more at the Chicago Sun-Times

Chris Rene: ‘X Factor’ Star Talks Addiction, Fatherhood and Music’s Poor Role Models During In House Q&A – “When it comes to recovery, you don’t promise anything, to anyone — ever.” “X Factor” third-place finalist Chris Rene may have come a long way from his days as an alcoholic and drug addict, but he’s the first to acknowledge that he’s still got a long way to go. The 29-year-old Santa Cruz, Calif. native became an instant favorite when he told his story of conquering his demons on the “X Factor” audition stage — then even more after he performed his own original song about those struggles. “Young Homie” is now the new Epic signee’s lead single. I remember this one – thanks! My fingers get tired just watching him! :)

I was shocked though, shocked !!! that Shirley asked about the other guy, her face even lit up. Heh.

You mean Adam? Lol, he’s getting to the Voldemort status here as well. I don’t know what’s so shocking about it –  their albums drop week apart and the interview was for Idol Worship (Hangover?), the question wasn’t that much out of place. Although I did notice that in the ton of interviews Adam has done recently he almost never gets asked about Kris, they aren’t linked nearly as often as Kris says.

I just played Casey’s new cd yesterday.  Only one listen so far.  Have loved his lead single since the first time I heard it.  I will say I was disappointed not to hear more of his bluesy style in the cd.  My other two favs on the cd are Workin On It, which made me laugh and Miss Your Fire.  The latter was totally unexpected, completely different and I love it!  Hope its his next single.

Thanks for posting.  Heejun’s “God Bless America” was very, very nice. :)

I agree, I rarely read an article about Adam where they mention that other guy…glad to hear that they support each other..very cool…

I really didn’t think Farmer’s Daughter was very country at all.  She did some country-tinged arrangements live, but the CD itself was more folk/roots/rock.

I think the design of the new website is lovely, but I really hope that there’s more content there soon.  I’m not a fan of websites that are essentially parking spaces for social media accounts.

As for the new song, I haven’t heard it yet, but I’ll give it some time after this weekend.

I want to hear ‘Ohio Flies’ but I can’t get it unless I subscribe to an email listing, which I don’t want to do – so I’ll wait till it’s released I guess.

“I want to hear ‘Ohio Flies’ but I can’t get it unless I subscribe to an email listing, which I don’t want to do – so I’ll wait till it’s released I guess.”

When I left my email address for the free download I received two links; one to get the download and one to confirm my subscription.  I just clicked the download because I don’t need more spam; hopefully that will work.
Like the song, although at over 5 minutes, it is way too long for a slow song.  I really liked her album, even if it was a little sleepy.  I never thought it was country at all (except for two songs were a little country tinged) but very folk-rock. Farmer’s Daughter is an outstanding song.

I hope some of the people who think James screams will listen to his NA.  It’s fantastic.

  • DragonFly

Although I wholeheartedly give a “like” to the comment above (zzatrms) because it being the NA he gave it just the right amount of flair — I also WHOLEHEARTEDLY enjoy the type of “screamin” James does in some of his other songs.  Would never want that to change.

Me either …. I have his album and play it all the time :)

Like James or not, I don’t think anyone that listens to it can argue that rendition is nothing other than fantastic.

Thanks Zsus for posting Heejun’s rendition of God Bless America -that was “beautiful.” I really think that now he does feel blessed living in America -I hope he makes the most of the opportunities that have come his way .
