David returns home

Since he finished second on last year's "American Idol," David Archuleta has headlined shows in Virginia, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada and Idaho.

But never in Utah, his home state. Until this week.
-clip-

On his voice:

I'm surprised at how well it's been holding up, because I've never had to perform this many songs before in a set; also considering that it's almost every night. I actually lost my voice from oversinging during rehearsals and for the first couple of tour shows. That was really scary. I was thinking: "I haven't even started yet and it's already gone!" But
my voice was able to hold for all those shows, and it's now feeling great. I've learned a lot about making sure I take care of my voice and how to do that.
-clip-

On what fans respond to:

They respond really well to "Touch My Hand," since that's the opener. Some other ones they respond well to are "Crush" and a song I haven't released anywhere, called "Zero Gravity," that I helped write.

You still attend school every day, right? Hang out with your friends on the weekend, and get to go to prom and football games and all that regular teenage stuff. And Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m assuming your activities arenà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t helping to support your family financiallyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦

Hi MJ,

I was not really talking about money, but about the thing of Daniel being 14 or 15 and singing on stage not having the time for school.

No my cheer does not help pay for things for my fam., but it takes a lot more time than most peeps know. It will pay for college we hope. Does that count? My Dad tells me that college is a lot of money. lol

I am in the gym almost every day and travel at least once a month sometimes 2 times a month to compete. I do school cheer and private cheer. Even in the summer.

No I do not go to the prom cause I am only 15 and my Dad does not think it is a good idea to date yet.

Football games, yea I cheer at football games. lol

I think what I am trying to say is that teens can spend a lot of time working on things like cheer, football, acting, singing on stage and still have time for the important things like school. It's fun and learning at the same time.

David makes money doing what he loves. Kudos to him and his bro Daniel.

I wish I could make money for my cheer and help my Dad out to. My Dad has a shirt that says:

I pay and she cheers! lol

I can easily see how someone would get the impression - for whatever reason - that David would make an appearance at his after party. The only communication I saw to the contrary was from FOD and it stated that there was 'no gaurantee' David would show. I don't think we can presume that every single Archie fan seeks out that site. I'm an Archie fan, but unlike many die hards, I refuse to spend day in, day out on his site waiting with bated breath for any morsel of information. FOD's a wonderful site, but there's oftentimes a snobbyness about it that almost implies that if you're not reading there, it's your fault for missing information and you're probably not much of a fan. JMO

Regardless of any of it, it's certainly not David's fault and we all know he'd be mortified to see such a headline attributed to him.

Allison has pimp spot.

If it's anything like last week, that probably means she's going first.
Thanks for the info. I really hope Allison has the pimp spot.

Just got back from the rehearsal...started and ended late...Carrie was there, so she should be sending songs soon. I just gotta say wait until you see Adam...when they came in, he walked right passed me, and I did not recognize him! He looks like he is in the Brat Pack or something...very good performance too.

"One can only hope. I wonà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t be surprised if he bounces back though. America loves redemption and a comeback as much as it loves celebrity gossip."

Of course the public has forgiven much worse than that, Robert Downey - oh too many too mention

CathyMK- I wonder how Chris Brown is going to survive his recent issues?

Hopefully quietly in jail where it seems to me he belongs.

Hey he could have... hahaha ^^

---------------
Archuleta brings out fans' youthful side

To say the crowds at the David Archuleta concerts in Idaho last week were, well, a bit unusual would be an understatement.

Half the fun was just watching concertgoers interact with each other.

The teenager from Utah à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬' runner-up in Season 7 of "American Idol" à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬' brought out a most eclectic crowd.

I've attended my fair share of concerts, from N*Sync to My Chemical Romance, but I've never seen a crowd quite like this.

Perhaps the group of young women from a local LDS Church ward was to be expected at the Boise concert, but the group of college students dancing and drinking was a surprise.

(the kids were more behaved, but its a nice little article pointing out an all ages and genders crowd, which most articles lump people into the screaming female tweens category)
