Stacy joins ‘X Factor’ race – George Clooney’s girlfriend Stacy Keibler is in talks to join “The X Factor” as negotiations continue with Britney Spears to be a judge on the upcoming season. We are told that actress, model and former professional wrestler Keibler is in secret talks to join Simon Cowell’s Fox show. Read more at NY Post

“Idol” turns mentor for Paw Paw High vocal students – PAW PAW – When Matt Giraud walked into the choir room Tuesday at Paw Paw High School, Jasmine Westerfield’s eyes grew large and her lips pursed into a small “o.” Too stunned to do more than stare at her idol, a friend asked Giraud if Westerfield could shake his hand while he noodled around on the Yamaha grand piano, singing songs and answering questions from the kids.”Of course,” Giraud said, beckoning her over, giving her a hug and asking her to sit next to him on the piano bench while he sang another song. Westerfield sat, stunned. Amazed. – Read more at ZWire

Megan Hilty Teases Smash’s Mother of a Twist, More Ivy/Karen Drama and Marilyn’s First Ouster – This Monday on Smash (NBC, 10/9c), it’s time for Marilyn: The Musical to stage its workshop presentation for potential backers, and it’s literally a hot ticket. Not to mention, Tony winner Bernadette Peters is on hand as Ivy’s mighty talented momma, Leigh Conroy, adding to the ingenue’s existing anxiety. TVLine invited Megan Hilty to preview Marilyn‘s first bow, the Ivy/Karen drama to come and a twist that threatens to cut the show’s cast by one. – Read more at TV Line

Mark Ballas’ ‘DWTS’ blog: Training from the U.K. to L.A. – Season 14 is here. I can’t believe it — where did the time go? This off-season seemed to fly by! Aside from spending time with family and friends, I had a lot of things going on that kept me busy. I choreographed the new Pepsi commercial with Sofia Vergara, which was a ton of fun. I really enjoyed being on the other side of the camera, working with the director and cast to bring the concept to life. I’m excited about another big project that I can’t quite tell you about yet, but you’ll all see it soon enough. – Read more at USA Today

Karina Smirnoff Says Gavin DeGraw Is Nervous About Dancing with the Stars – I’m definitely nervous and excited about our first live performance on Dancing with the Stars Monday. This is the first time I will get to see Gavin in this particular element. It will be interesting to see how he handles the pressure. Everybody is different. If he does as well live as he does in the studio, it will be great. He’s just nervous. But it’ll be cool. I’m excited. This is going to be a competitive cast. A lot of people will have good dancing skills, because I know a few have dance experience – whether it’s outside of ballroom or whether it’s in. I know Sherri mentioned on The View that she was taking ballroom classes from Maks, prior to the show. – People

Carrie’s shooting something with Fox today according to this tweet

Prepping for a Green Screen Shoot for @FOXBroadcasting tomorrow with the Beautiful and talented @carrieunderwood

Carrie blogged on St. Patrick’s Day at her official fan club. She told a hilarious story about how she got into trouble when she was 5 for trying to pinch somebody for not wearing green that day, then she talked about how excited she is for the launch of Blown Away. She said they’re going to try to do some special stuff for us, be all over radio and TV, and that we should keep our eyes open towards the end of April. She also mentioned she’s got a busy week this week. She’s got this Fox shoot today and I saw a tweet from somebody in country radio about an interview this weektoo.

According to this ACM ad Carrie’s part of the ACM Awards show. That’s no surprise, the ACMs are obviously going to want her performing Good Girl. Nothing’s been officially announced but her being featured in the ads is a sign in that direction. Some of the acts mentioned have already been confirmed as performers but others (like Carrie, Brad, and Sara Evans) haven’t.

Stacy Kiebler…WOW!…there’s a household name for ya!  It says she’s a former wrestler…she could take care of Simon if (when) he gets out of line.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_WC5Q6ULBZZD3YT6AIN4NTU4S74 Whiteshirt

The cast of DWTS was so pitiful last year that I took the show off of  the DVR and found that I could live quite well without it — although I did miss Tom Bergeron a little.

Stacy Kiebler would be a great option for Hostess — certainly not as a judge.

  • Kirsten

George Clooney’s girlfriend Stacy Keibler is in talks to join “The X Factor” as negotiations continue with Britney Spears to be a judge on the upcoming season.

Has Simon given up on trying to sign famous people to be on his show and is ready to settle for people who date famous people?  George Clooney must be good for about 100 potential candidates.

Simon, when all of those people say no, I’ll take the gig. I can take being called a jealous old cow for $2M a year. That’s a bargain! I’m opinionated and have been very successful at getting people to hate me by posting those opinions on this blog. I’m sure I could create some buzz! Plus, I know more than 10 songs!

I think that I might have to look into dating George. Dating him seems to be a good way to get your foot in the door of US reality television shows. First there was Elizabeth Canelli on DWTS and now this chick for X-Factor. Maybe if I can get him to agree to have coffee with me, I can get on Wipe-Out or Hoarders.

This isnt really a headline–but it’s cute. Casey Abrams tweeted that he was driving his car and some fan started screaming for him to pull over. Casey with his sweet nature–did just that –and there was an impromptu little jam. The fan sings pretty good too.

Stacy was actually in DWTS several years ago – well before she started dating Clooney. And she was terrific. Really good dancer and very personable. I actually think she could be a good co-host. Not a judge. But as a co-host? She is pretty, has reality competition show experience, and personable. Makes some sense

  • GS61

I can’t believe I actually agreed with Slezak about Erika. I’ve been waiting too for a rock explosion from her. She’s got the pipes to do it. Idol needs a REAL rock performance this year. Rock fans like me are dying for it!
    Bring it Erika!

  • Listening

What is Simon doing is he serious Stacey Keibler. I have no idea who she is, you have the lowest ratings of all the singing talent shows you need a DRAW. She’s George Clooneys girlfriend so i’m guessing she’s a model. But that can’t be true right she needs some kind of affiliation with music doesn’t she. That’s a stupid name to drop because the only attention it will bring is derisive. You can’t go from Britney to Stacey that’s too big a drop off in the fame department.

  • http://www.velvetspark.com Jordan Seltzer

Stacy for Co-host is a good idea. She’s really pretty but not in a slutty way. She has a cute personality.

She had a career prior to her boyfriend.

  • http://twitter.com/tinawinabina Tinawina

ITA. Erika has it in her, I just need her to do it on stage. It would be amazing.

Maybe now that she and Elise have made the tour, they can relax a little and just have fun. I know I would if I were them.

  • Kirsten

She had a career prior to her boyfriend

Yet the New York Post decided that she was best known has his girlfriend.

I’m sure all of George’s girlfriends did something before they met him. If I’ve ever heard of this Stacy person before, I’ve forgotten her. Simon wanted to hire some big names and she isn’t one. Perhaps she is very talented and Simon wants to hire her for her talent, but Simon rarely does that. He probably just think she looks hot and has to hire somebody soon. It was around this time last year that he made all of his casting announcements.

Eh. Maybe she’ll do a good job and that’s probably more important than how famous she was to start with.

  • V Jemmy

Love love love the idea of Stacy Keibler as a host/co-host.  Love her.  Been a fan since back in her Nitro girl days.  If she is cast, she has the potential to bring in a very different type of crowd then the usual Idol crowd, at least in the beginning.  Who knows if they would stick around.

If she does end up as a judge instead, she’ll at least be able to assist with the dance part of the routines.  She’s been in dance since she was a wee one and was a Baltimore Raven cheerleader at one time.

  • Tess

I actually know who Stacy is, remember her from DWTS (season 2…before it got really boring), and know that she has “talked” on camera a good deal and would, probably, be very good as a “host”.  She’s quick witted, comfortable in front of the camera, intelligent, and very, very pretty in the same vein as Cat Deeley.  Considering the non entitity and non personality of the previous host I would think that Simon would do very well to hire Miss Keibler.  (And, as an aside, she’s pretty good eye candy for Georgie).

ETA: and since the New York Post is not much more than a big boy gossip rag I am sure that they only “look” for what will get hits and not anything about journalistic integrity.

  • http://twitter.com/ladymctech ladymctech

So I learned today that all I have to do is get George Clooney to date me and I’ll get a good TV gig. Fat chance of that happening, LOL. I somehow cannot see Stacy judging musical talent, but after Nicole I guess anything is an improvement.

  • Anonymous

Seems more creepy than cute to me.

  • Niall

I know Stacey Keibler from her season of DWTS but I’m sure even she realizes dating George Clooney will overshadow anything but the biggest A list career. She’s got a pretty warm and likable personality so I wouldn’t mind her as a replacement for Steve. I don’t watch X Factor but she’s a good choice based on what I’ve seen of HER over the years. :)

  • Anonymous

Slezak is so right about Eriks dye the hair black and dress like a rocker and come out hard you might score big time and if she doesn’t take the chance she is going home soon.

Agree with Melinda about Skylar that performance was flat no vocal range in it.  She is so much better then that.

  • Nele621

You know if George Clooney has dated a girl, she probably isn’t really too famous, and is tall and skinny. Yeah, I agree that Stacey is more known for dating Clooney than anything else. Clooney is an A-lister. Stacey was probably about a D-lister before Clooney.

  • Nele621

What can Joshua and Erika learn from Durbin? How to scream off key?

  • Anonymous

I love Idology, such a great “show”.

  • Anonymous

Aww, I loved that! What a cool guy Casey is, and they sounded really good together, too!

  • Trina

I knew of Stacy way before she started dating George, I wouldnt say she was D List. She was a well known female wrestler and when she was on Dancing with the Stars she was fantastic and one of the frontrunners to win, she was also a fixture in those famous mens magazines like Maxim and Stuff. always gracing the covers of those. She simply became way more famous once she started dating GC.

I’m looking forward to DWTS tonight. I’ve learned over the years not to judge a cast by looking at the names and know exactly what will happen. Last year at this time I expected to be bored and barely knew anyone, I thought the lack of starpower would be bad. Little did I know I would end up being endeared to Rob Kardashian and the least well known “star” would end up being my favorite winner ever.

Sometimes the British fascination with boy bands (aka One Direction) results in something good…take a listen to these guys.

    http://www.people.com/people/package/article/0,,20395222_20578898,00.html

Now, if something like them showed up on X-Factor I would definitely watch.  Talk about eye candy and heart palpatations.

    Okay…back on topic…

It is nice to see that Slezak is maturing….Doolittle is very good for him.  I look forward to these 10 minutes and like how it has progressed into something much more positive instead of focusing so much on the negative like the co-hosts did when it was on EW.

ETA: Just listened to Dorsey (aka Humperdinck) with his Eurovision entry. This has to be tongue in cheek and a the UK’s way of demonstrating the idiocy of the competition. If not, someone is laughing behind the scenes.

Stacy Kiebler…WOW!…there’s a household name for ya!  It says she’s a former wrestler…she could take care of Simon if (when) he gets out of line.

If she did a body slam on him, that would be worth watching.

And  learn from Adam? Stay in the closet during the show?

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/XDQP2Y46M5B3OHOKALDDGDHQCM Leandro

Yes. I think the same thing. Erika and Elise are afraid to rock it out! They’re jsut doing karaoke songs the producers told them to do. Both will not make top 8 if they dont’t try some crazy rock performance!

  • Anonymous

Maybe they will learn how to to stay on the show as long as possible and actually have a music career after the show is over. Having the ability to stay on key is a good thing.

  • GS61

At this point they’ve got nothing to lose. Not really too much a fan of Elise’s voice, but Erika definitely can rock it out big time.
They both better step it up, I agree, or they’re out of there soon.

  • Anonymous

what would Stacy Keibler do on the XFactor? She’s not qualified to be a judge. Host? Backstage reporter?

  • http://www.facebook.com/masewallace Mase Wallace

i love wrestling so i know of stacy, but no just no,excuse me, HELL TO THE NO!!!

  • pj

    Uhhh.  Stacy Keibler?  Really?  LOL.

  • Nele621

Adam didn’t come out and say “I’m gay,” while on the show, but everyone knew it. Bill O’Reilly mentioned it on his show about three or four times. That’s when I first heard about it.

Actually, Slezak should use winners as examples on how to not only stay, but win.

Did Melinda just recently cut her hair short? She really looks cute now and has such a cute personality.

  • Anonymous

I liked the Durbin reference: Light a piano on fire. Explode something. Go for it. And, of course, Adam’s: Don’t just belt it to the rafters every week just because you can. Gets boring.

  • Nele621

Is Chris Daughtry’s voice changing? He is a good singer and sang on key, but his voice is sounding squeeky the last few months. I don’t remember him sounding like that before.

  • Anonymous

He’s lost some of his range, his voice has certainly changed in the last couple years. I noticed the difference when he performed last year on Idol.

  • Anonymous

Hell yeah, Manning going to Denver Broncos and it’s goodbye time for Tebow. Life is good!

Back to Idol, Elise and Erika is going to need more than exploding pianos and faux rock performances to save them. They are destined for a early exit.

EVP actually seems excited about this week, like more so than past weeks, or so she’s said through social media–so maybe that will translate to her being more relaxed and etc. this week.  I would hope that since this group has already hit the milestone of making Top 10, they might relax across the board.  After all, even if they get kicked off at this point they do so knowing that they get to go on tour this summer and have that experience.

I was looking over their twitters to see if any have given any clues regarding their songs and I’m a little intrigued by Phillip classifying his mentoring session as “weird”, whatever that means.   But he’s in no risk of going home anyway.

That and Deandre seems happier with his song choice/mentoring session this week and is supposedly going uptempo.

I love EVP and her voice, though was underwhelmed by her performance this past week, but I don’t think it’s any real surprise she might be struggling with the votes considering she didn’t have the votes to be voted into the finals in the first place. Short of a miracle happening, I expect Jessica, Hollie and Skylar to be the last three females standing.

I think Simon is just hoping that he can get George Clooney to show up in the audience of the show a few times.  He’d give him more camera time than Michael Jackson’s kids got last season.

Hmm. I wonder if Billy Joel is actually mentoring this week. He was on back in S2 but gave intro packages I think and never met the contestants. He might have also dissed idol in the past? I’m not too sure. It would make sense if he did mentor going by Phillip’s tweet. He is kinda known for being an ass and blunt. Or you know Lady Gaga is mentoring. Because Billy Joel music and Lady Gaga go hand in hand. ha

What-  Scotty to perform WTT on the award show. WTT!? Really ? Doesn´t make sense to me at all.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ACMLXLYSSX73RNYQOUZWSO2I4U Enough already!

  • http://twitter.com/TylerWV TylerWV

I don’t like WTT at all but I heard Scotty say in an interview it was one of his favs.  If he gets to pick the singles, maybe he went with it.  I’ve heard Kellie Pickler say that she really pushed for a certain song to be single because it meant so much to her.  I guess singers forget that they should pick songs the public would like instead of songs they like for sentimental reasons.  First we heard WITC would be the next single,  then WYNOMH, now WTT.  i personally love OOS and maybe that will be the single for the end of summer, but the singles take forever to change so maybe that would be a good one to start now.

I didn’t realize this was posted here too when I responded to a question about it in the numbers thread. I probably shouldn’t repeat myself here. I’ll just say I’m surprised he’s singing a shorter version Water Tower Town but there’s a few possible reasons for singing that one – it could be his next single, the ACM producers may want all the new artist nominees singing “where I’m from” type songs, Scotty’s label may have reserved the AI performance (if it’s the same week or the following week) for the new single so they’re having him sing something different at the ACMs, or there could be something else going on. I don’t favor WTT as Scotty’s next single at all but labels usually don’t listen to me ;)

I’ll be watching DWTS this season to watch William Levi, spanish telenovela superstar and he was also in JLO’s MV.

I’ve heard 3 of the songs on David A’s Forevermore album. I love the purity of his voice, no autotune needed here and he’s working on the US album!

    David Archuleta @DavidArchie
Just finished recording another song. Excited about how all of it’s turning out!

    Forevermore by David Archuleta Review.

David Archuleta has been working hard on his highly anticipated album Forevermore,’ before setting off on his two year Mormon mission. Promising to build on what his dedicated fans already adored when seeing him rise to fame in American Idol, Archuleta is using his magnificent voice to show his love of Original Pinoy Music. Going from strength to strength as a brilliant young star, David is able to reach out beyond teen fans and inspire all lovers of pop. Forevermore is a true gem, showing Archuleta’s ability to present emotion in his voice and also pay homage to classic artists.

I think that Sleezak was pointing this out about both James and Adam.  James changed things up too, but he didn’t get a lot of attention for doing so, because people either liked his soft/rock performances or they liked his harder stuff.  And both sides thought that he wasn’t being true to himself by doing the other type of music.   I think there were people who felt the same way about Adam, but the vast majority of contestants who do well on AI are the ones who mix it up during the season.  People love when contestants show that they know who they are as artists, but voters also love it when the contestants show diversity.  That could include performing songs that were originally performed by artists who were their polar opposites, stepping outside of their genres, rearranging songs, or doing songs that showcase their vocals one week, and the next songs that are about the spectacle.

  • shell29

Was Clooney still dating the model at the time she was on DWTS? He never appeared on that show.

I believe they had already broken up by the time Elisabetta appeared on DWTS.

  • Anonymous

Yes – spoke of Adam’s trajectory from ROF to TOMT – mixing it up as the important thing.  Not that Adam can’t belt it out with the best of them, but that wasn’t the point here.  Strategy is.

  • Chris

Who knows how well WTT will do … many of us thought the TWG was not the best track off Clear as Day (too slow) but his fans seem loyal to whatever song they release. Perhaps they believe WTT has an ageless appeal.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_WIHKL34XDORTS2UZP4SWUUTG3U randi

I think that Sleezak was pointing this out about both James and Adam.

I would never presume to know what Sleazak was thinking or meaning so I just go by what he said.  The advise and mentions were in regards to two different contestants.  Josh is in danger of becoming one note hence him saying watch Adam who changed it up week to week and made things interesting.

The advise mentioning James was less specific except to say do a “james durbin explosion” which was mentioned in the same breath as another Adam performance Born to be Wild.  They were basically saying Erika needs to just let it go and balls to the wall GO.

James changed things up too, but he didn’t get a lot of attention for doing so, because people either liked his soft/rock performances or they liked his harder stuff.  And both sides thought that he wasn’t being true to himself by doing the other type of music.

I think people questioned whether he was being true to himself because he kept going on and on about how he was giving “metal” a chane and yet he really never sang a metal song throughout the entire competition.

I think there were people who felt the same way about Adam,

I don’t remember that.  Adam sang enough of everything to keep people guessing and he never proclaimed himself to be the “rock” guy.

the vast majority of contestants who do well on AI are the ones who mix it up during the season.

except last season where the winner sang basically the same song every single week LOL

People love when contestants show that they know who they are as artists, but voters also love it when the contestants show diversity.

Knowing who you are gives you the ability to show diversity IMO.  If you know what type of artist you are you can take any song from any genre and twist it to your style.  David Cook did that, Kris Allen did that, Adam Lambert did that.

That could include performing songs that were originally performed by artists who were their polar opposites, stepping outside of their genres, rearranging songs, or doing songs that showcase their vocals one week, and the next songs that are about the spectacle.

It seems since Jimmy and the new judges came on board the rearranging of songs has been frowned upon.  Gone is the ability to be creative and different.  However, I do agree about the need to change things up which is why Sleazak said Josh should watch Adam’s season to see how he did it.  Josh has a huge voice but he’ll get boring if every week he turns in a barn burner of a performance like he’s done over the last few weeks.  Dial it back a bit.

I like the band and the song, in particular. However, I can’t see the teenage girls going nuts over them, like they do One Direction, so it is doubtful that they would take off the way One Direction did.

Just watched Idology again and Slezak didn’t mention both Adam and James changing it up week to week. Slezak said Joshua should “study Adam Lambert’s Idol trajectory”. He suggested that Joshua vary his performances from week to week just like Adam did during season 8.

  • GS61

Top 12 guys night James sang “You Got Another Thing Coming.”
Last Time I checked Judas Priest is a heavy metal British band.
That is singing a metal song during the competition.

And don’t get me started on the lying about song clearance that came with his attempt to sing Skid Row for the Year You Were Born week.
He also was set to sing Dio’s “Rainbow in the Dark” top 3 night, but we were denied the pleasure :(
