DC’s promo wasn’t really lacking… in any fashion. Kelly did get more, but it was offset by the time of the year when sales are lower, and the fact that she’s not coming off of Idol and this isn’t her first debut album (so people aren’t all, “omg, wonder what that sounds like”).

Kelly has made RCA about $100M, so they should be promoting her more than any other Idol.

Yep. The girl has already given RCA so much. She damn deserves every promotion she’s getting (and much, much more). It’s a give and take thing. She gives RCA profits, she takes promotions (and vice versa). Now if she’s a new artist and RCA showered her with all the promos in the world and she can’t even sell that much, then that could be a problem. That’s why most Idols get dropped after a flop 1st album.

David Archuleta may sound familiar to you if you are one of the 35 million Americans who watch the hit TV show “American Idol.” On March 15, Archuleta, the second runner-up in last season’s show, surprised more than 20 teens and their families with a special appearance at The Wellness Community – Arizona (TWC-AZ).

The teens, who are cancer survivors, met and talked with the popular pop star. A group of Make-a-Wish teens also attended the “surprise” event. David’s appearance was orchestrated by a Valley cancer survivor and alumni of TWC’s cancer support programs.

The teens only discovered the identity of their surprise star guest when they registered for the event.

Teen cancer support program participant Dani Koenes, 15, who is being treated for a brain tumor, said “I had butterflies in my stomach the whole time.” Archuleta sung his Billboard hit “Crush” and “Angels,” took photos with each teen and signed autographs.

“David really went out of his way for the teens. He was so kind and caring,” said TWC Teen Counselor Tracy Lentz.

I read a good portion of the articles and what catches my eye à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’  Philà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s album went up in sales. Anyone have any info on that?

Several Idol albums landed back on the Billboard charts last week, including Phil’s album and Elliott Yamin’s holiday album.

I think it’s because of the huge closeout sales at Circuit City last week. I was reading that they had a bunch of Idol albums on sale.

The top-rated television show will encamp at the Motown Historical Museum on Thursday, the Free Press has learned, shooting footage for a Motown-themed episode next week.
