Lauren Alaina cancels as opener for Aldean tonight – Country singer Lauren Alaina, scheduled as one of two opening acts for tonight’s Jason Aldean concert at Intrust Bank Arena, will not be performing after all, the venue announced on its Facebook and Twitter feeds this afternoon. Glee star Lea Michele tweets, that she recorded a Kelly Clarkson song for the show today! “@kelly_clarkson you are such an incredible singer. Had the honor of recording one of your songs today.. It wasn’t easy but so fun!!!” It’s probably for Episode 18 which airs on May 1.

Jekyll & Hyde Tour, Starring Constantine Maroulis, Aiming for Broadway in April 2013 – Nederlander Presentations, Inc.’s production of Frank Wildhorn’s Jekyll & Hyde will return to Broadway in April 2013 for a limited engagement, according to an Equity casting notice. As previously reported, the 25-week national tour will launch Oct. 2, 2012, at San Diego’s Civic Theatre in San Diego, CA. Rock of Ages Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis will star in the dual title role of Dr. Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde. American Idol’s LaKisha Jones Performs “Broadway Rocks” In Canada – FLINT, Michigan—Many may know LaKisha Jones for performing songs by acts like Whitney Houston and Diana Ross, but this weekend, she’s headed to Canada to show off her Broadway and classical chops. The Flint native and “American Idol” finalist will perform this weekend in Broadway Rocks, a trio of concerts on Friday, Mar. 16 and Saturday, Mar. 17 at 8 p.m., and Sun., March 19 at 2 p.m. For the shows, presented by Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and The Rainbow Harmony Project, Broadway performers are paired with symphonies. On Friday, March 23, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Diana DeGarmo (Angelina) will debut an original song that she co-wrote with her live-in beau, fellow AMERICAN IDOL contestant Ace Young! Angelina will first sing the country ballad “The Good Goodbye” on that day’s episode, and the tune will continue to be heard on several additional shows.
