Thanks for that link, soamused! From that article...

What do you think when people say he is too à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“theatricalà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ for Idol?
I think saying someoneà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s too musical theater is b.s.! Frankly, thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s offensive. Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s the easy way out to try and find something wrong with him when thereà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s nothing wrong. It also gives a stigma about who à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Broadwayà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ people are. I mean, weà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢re not people that overly indicate and put on a show wherever we go. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m tired of people putting the à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Broadway labelà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ on someone as if it were a bad thing.

Amen, sista. Simon can be such a myopic ass sometimes. That "too broadway" crap has bugged me since season 2, and I wasn't even Clay fan. It was just a dumb thing to say.

Also random off topic high five for the Firefly love. I *heart* Captain Tightpants 4evah, amen.

This is now being referred to as the true à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“death slotà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ on AI this yearà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦may as well paint a bulls-eye or a big à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“CFà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ on anyone performing directly after Adam.

And they can't very well have him perform last every time, either.

Although I have a feeling he'll go subdued this week, so it may not kill the person after him.

Whoot! I LOVED Firefly. Such a waste of an awesome show.

I remember when Family Guy was resurrected after being cancelled and they opened the 1st episode by naming every Fox show that was cancelled in the interim... it was a ridiculously long list. I'm happy the guy is gone.

I adore the quote from the Broadway article about how no one wanted to do karaoke after him!!!! Can you even IMAGINE listening to typical karaoke and then having ADAM get up there and sing?

This is now being referred to as the true "death slot" on AI this year...may as well paint a bulls-eye or a big "CF" on anyone performing directly after Adam. :surrender_tb:

I am currently throwing confetti all over my house because Peter Liguori got canned. I hate that man so much. He's the one who was responsible for FOX canceling about 50 different shows including Reunion, Wonderfalls, Firefly and just about any other show that has ever been on FOX. Party day for me.

soamused, THANKS

Great article and I love how they talked about Adam being called out for being too theatrical. My first music love was to listen to all the Broadway and Movie musicals. Most of them still thrill me to this day. I think their is something so unique about a person who can sing and dance and act, I don't think it is easy.

I really get the impression that Adam is one of those rare individuals who really attracts people and who makes them feel comfortable. I just love to listen to his interviews and the AI blips because he is so articulate.

My absolute favorite....and I feel he is picking up steam every week.

Note to Roger Friedman: Adam was an understudy for the LA à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“company of Wicked. Thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not the same thing as à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“touring nationallyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ . Whatever, tool.

Actually, Adam was in the touring company as well. This is a quote from the Broadway article linked above me.

Adam and I actually met through a friend of mine who I moved to New York with, but we really got to be friends when I did six weeks on the first national tour of Wicked with him, as well as time in the L.A. cast.

That helps clear it up, because I was confused about it before.

I wonder where Friedman got his info on Adams dad as Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve read in several columns that he was a DJ at one time and he looks very much married to Adamà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s mother. That whole bio didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t seem to add up.

I don't know about the whole bio.....could be just a writer's imagination, you know?

But a poster at TWOP who claims to know Eber stated the following:

"I happen to know Adam's father and he is a great guy. Eber (Adam's father) is so funny, warm and sincere. I have never seen a set of parents love and truly put their child first as I have seen with the Lambert's. His parents are divorced, by the way. Have been for a long time, but are still great friends and truly have affection for each other. Adam came out to his parents pretty young and they were as great as any child would hope."

I don't know if it's true....just reporting what I saw.

Hey MJ......I like the respect for Elvis Costello. He is as close to my hero as anyone ever has been.

Elliot, as his new video shows, was the best pure vocalist to grace the idol stage.

Cruz - Hereà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s another view of DA singing last night and ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s longer. Any idea what little snippet of song he sings at the end?

Sooooooorry, the audio isn ´t enough clear so I can ´t understand the words... I think is a Mariachi song by Luis Miguel... :redface_wp:
