American Idol’s Top 13 on Performing Whitney and Stevie! Plus, Who “Can’t Stand” Each Other? – American Idol isn’t going easy on season 11’s Top 13: In their first week of real competition, the girls have to tackle songs by the late Whitney Houston while the boys take on Stevie Wonder. DeAndre Brackensick: Bay Area’s Hawaiian ‘American Idol’ – “American Idol” fans who’ve been captivated by 17-year-old DeAndre Brackensick, the judges’ “wild card” addition to last week’s Top 10, may not be aware that the senior at San Jose’s Oak Grove High School also sings traditional Hawaiian music — hence his nickname “Kamele” and that sweet falsetto. Paul McDonald Hoping To Pen A ‘Twilight’ Song – Newlyweds Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald gave MTV News an exclusive look at their latest labor of love on Tuesday — the video for their first musical collaboration, “Now That I’ve Found You.” And while “Twilight” star Reed didn’t necessarily see the sweet ditty ending up on the “Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ soundtrack, she did reveal that husband McDonald is in the early stages of submitting a song for potential inclusion in the saga’s final installment. – Read more at MTV

Country Stars Step Up For “Autism Sings!” – Country artists are stepping up Margaritaville (322 Broadway, Nashville, TN) and showing their support in the fight against autism at the Nashville benefit concert Autism Speaks™ Presents “Autism Sings!” On Tuesday, March 13th, Country artists Ty Herndon, Bucky Covington, Bo Bice, Carter’s Chord and Mockingbird Sun will perform individual acoustic sets at the event, as will 13-year-old Katie Chance, who was diagnosed on the autism spectrum when she was two years old. – Read more at Nashville.com

‘American Idol’ Producer Rebooting ‘Name That Tune’ – Iconic game show Name That Tune could be returning to television. American Idol and The X Factor production company FremantleMedia has secured worldwide rights to the property from Prestige Entertainment Group, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. As first reported by Vulture, the music-themed game show that first ran from 1953-1959 on NBC and CBS is being rebooted for a modern audience, with Fremantle becoming the latest to attempt the Tune revival. – Read more at The Hollywood Reporter

    I thought this was a joke at first:

    ABC is entering the crowded singing competition arena, but with four hefty names: Kelly Clarkson,Lionel Richie, Robin Thicke and Sugarland’sJennifer Nettles. The four superstars will serve as mentors and singing partners on Duets, which will premiere this summer.

    Are we sure it’s not? Did they meet on the set of The Voice and just decide to keep mentoring?

    Well, I guess Kelly Clarkson wants her name firmly associated with singing competitions forever.

    I bet Simon is freaking out and screaming at his crew: “Kelly Clarkson was available and these are the candidates you bring me? How did we miss this boat?”
