I could NOT get this thread to open earlier – but now that there’s an Evening Headlines it seems to be working fine for me. Heh.

I loved the call-in to MIX 105.1 – cracked up at the “Cinnamon Gum Czar of Los Angeles” and smiled at the shout out to DCO and the fans, and the descending order of ‘Songwriter’, “Singer’, “Performer’ and “Guitar Player’, because anyone who had heard his blistering guitar solo on “Let Go” would likely have some trouble with that ranking. Heh.

I was very pleased to see the station has three of David’s videos on their page – and a big splash on their homepage for the announcement. This sounds like a fun venue. With Food. And Wine. Maybe he ought to ship the wine home, and bring Marco along to keep him out of trouble w/the desserts? Or just stay away from the Chef’s Stage? *Wink*

Also. More than pleased David is writing again – can’t wait to hear what he comes up with next!

I think, understandably, he was depressed about his brother and probably
didn’t work much on the 2nd album, but I didn’t like the way I was
    tricked into thinking he did.

    Are you kidding me?!

David didn’t work much on his album and he tricked you into thinking he did because he was mourning for his brother?

That whole album was about his brother and he stated that from day one. On the surface they’re love songs, but the album is about his emotions surrounding his brother’s death. Even the title came from the fact that he found he couldn’t face waking up to the reality that his brother was dead. Sleeping and dreaming was an escape. He worked hard on it because it *was* about his brother, and that work shows if you’ve followed his body of work.

If the album isn’t Sgt. Pepper, well, sorry to burst any bubbles here but there isn’t going to be another Sgt. Pepper. From anyone. Because that was an album created in a certain place and time from a certain band that will never, ever be repeated.

I am so happy my generation was here to enjoy it first hand!  I think David will experiment with sound and lyrics and find what’s best for him.

I think David Cook’s “This Loud Morning” shows that he put a LOT of work into it. Opinions vary of course but I really don’t understand your saying he ‘fooled’ you about it. Did you see the DVD that went with the deluxe TLM? really, a lot of work went into that CD; I’m sorry for Dave’s sake that more people didn’t like it – but that’s the music biz.  I & many other listeners do enjoy it – and that showed during his successful but short tour this past year.

I’m glad he’s getting out there some more & I hope he has continued success with music – even if it’s on a smaller scale than I think he deserves.
