I believe Scotty is in DC with his school choral group for a performance at the Kennedy Center. Not sure if their performance was yesterday or today. Hope some video appears online.

Brad, Scotty ,TBP tour continues to get great fan reviews. Here just two ex. from TM to get an idea of impressions. I only copied the parts concerning Scotty

That whole night was awesome! Scotty McCreary was this shy little guy on AI and now look at him putting on a great show! ………………………….

Scotty McCreery was awesome just like I new he would be. He was the reason that I took my husband, son and three granddaughters all the way from Alaska. It was truly an exciting show and we loved all of the acts. It was so wonderful to see Carrie Underwood. I am a big American Idol fan. Thanks for a great night.
Opening act(s): Was awesome. I loved Scotty’s song “the trouble with girls”. We have shirts, CD’s and posters all Scotty.

I think the performance is tomorrow. Scotty’s choir teacher tweeted this.

Weird coincidence. 6 choirs were invited to sing for the President after an audition process. 3 of them are from North Carolina. The 2 other choirs invited to go are related to Scotty’s choir teacher. Her mom & mother-in-law are the choir teachers of the other NC schools. Talent must run in the family.

  • fuzzywuzzy

It’s weird, but I only started to “get” Chris Rene at the very end of the X-Factor, and although I still think that he’s a weak singer (except on his own songs), I find myself rooting for him.  :)

  • Anonymous

I think the performance is not until tomorrow. His choir teacher is still tweeting about working hard at rehearsals.

Some links about the Presidential choir concert Scotty is in (along with the rest of the Garner choir:)…This speaks a lot to Scotty doing some rather difficult music:)

Really looking forward to Celebrity Apprentice tonight. I’m rooting for Dee and Debbie and Clay, of course. I want my singers to go far.

I read someplace that Clay Aiken is hosting a multiple children’s choir concert at Carnegie Hall tomorrow night. Could that be the same event as Scotty’s?

#Kris is doing awesome as well! Finishing his album and we are preparing a trip to Walmart headquarters for a private performance next week!

It’s funny how Scotty always gets involved in school activities as often as he can.  Something like this President’s Day Festival Chorus seems more than a little unusual for an Idol winner, especially one who is in the midst of a sold-out tour with Brad Paisley.  But knowing how Scotty feels about his school, I guess it’s not for him.  :)

  • Anonymous

No. Scotty will be singing with his choir & 5 other high school choirs around the country at John F. Kennedy Center. This is a President’s Day Festival held tomorrow.

  • Anonymous

Lane also gave additional details about the Walmart performance.

    LNEWLAND1:
To clarify, it isn’t the Walmart soundcheck but just a corporate event to get them excited for Kris’s stuff!!

  • http://twitter.com/MikhailXO MikhailXO

I feel exactly the same! I really liked his audition and then he was (for me) unnoticed until about top 6 and then he became my guy. There is definitely a lot of musicality and innate, natural rhythm, and I suppose the imperfect vocals (which many of these contestants have) can be improved with vocal coaching and auto tune. Dude is talented…and very sincere and profoundly likable. I want him to succeed!! Go Chris!

  • Anonymous

If he can write his own songs and sing them well, I wouldn’t call him a weak singer. IMO, an artist’s abiliity or vocal performance is not judged by how well he/she can sing other peoples songs. His voice works totally with the kind of music he does.
TV competition was just a no no for someone who had never done cover songs before and I’m suprised he even did that well after hearing him say he never did covers.

Here’s a cute and fun interview he did at backstage Grammys for Ricky Dees. He is so happy and confident about what he’s recorded so far and I love the way he markets himself so well. I think you’d love it, haha.

This is him freestyling to end his charity concert at PETALUMA last week. Lmao! He starts his concerts fully dressed and end semi shirtless.

Both the YOUNG HOMIE song and video are being released to itunes on 2/28 which is also the ADDS date for the song. 4 pop/rhythmic stations have added it so far. Hope he gets a couple more this week before the official date.

Scotty is smart.  This is a moment in time that he knows will never come his way again.  Besides, Idol popularity has shown that it can be very fleeting.  Scotty may be doing well now, but who knows what the future holds.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_AGWO435FL6UN2ICRVTFLWRJZSA Lexie

I wanted to click like, but I don’t want to like the Idol popularity can be fleeting (even though I know it to be true).

This festival is certainly not just fun…rehearsing most of the day…does anyone know if the president actually attends the President Day’s festival?

  • Anonymous

No. From the info I received on IDF, the President does not attend.

  • Anonymous

Bass voices like Scotty’s are rare and highly valued in any choir or chorus.  I’m sure he feels needed in the group in a whole different way from being a star soloist.

Yay the Chart Show TV UK music channel posted the special they did (minus the videos they played) with Adam on youtube, love it! His dancecrying at the very end of Part 2 made me lol so hard.

So, is something going on in Nashville this week?

Looking around the web, there seems to be a convergence.

David Cook is there, writing with Jaren Johnston, who is tweeting w/Zac Maloy, David Hodges and Steve Miller (of Arrows to Athens) are also headed to Nashville, Casey James is there, and Jason Castro is on his way – tweeting about his broken cruise control. Heh.

Probably has nothing to do with that giant jam session that’s been held there weekly for the past year – probably means nothing that one of the organizers mentioned an Idol involvement on their Writer’s Night, probably just a long string of co-incidences, but it would be cool if some of them at least get to hang for a second, maybe even get a small bar crawl out of this, maybe.

  • fuzzywuzzy

Well, Chris’ vocals were pitchy when he tried to sing covers and I think that was because the cover songs were harder to sing than his own songs, which had limited range.  IMO, that still means that he’s a weak singer in general.

Not sure if anyone else heard the interview with James Durbin about his tour – he said he is not allowed yet to give details, but will be doing some shows with a label mate, and has a 3 page itinerary of shows coming up, but can’t say anything until they are announced apparently.  Now I’m wondering which label mate – Evanescence?

  • Anonymous

I’m betting Seether or Creed based upon their touring scheduling coinciding with when James says he will be touring.

  • Anonymous

“…a 3 page itinerary of shows for the next few months…”  That’s the best news I’ve heard all weekend, haha!!!  Where’s the interview?

  • fuzzywuzzy

Creed and Seether are touring in the U.S. according to the Wind Up tour site.  Evanescence is mostly touring abroad.

    http://www.winduprecords.com/tourdates.html

There are a couple of dates for James listed there:  Mar. 2 (Center Staging, Burbank), Apr. 11 (Club Nokia, LA),

  • Anonymous

I’ll try to find the interview & link it here for you.

Ok – here it is, hope this worked:

Ahh, I guess I wasn’t allowed to link it here – I did but then my post disappeared. I’ll try to find it in another format.

  • Anonymous

durbesque – I’m so sorry I can’t link it here.  If you go to James’ twitter feed someone tweeted it about 2 hours ago – it says something like James Durbin reveals more tour plans, sounds exciting – and it has a link there.  Sorry!

  • http://twitter.com/bignliddle BigNLiddle

I thought Evanescence broke up and that’s why We Are The Fallen was formed? haha

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/XDQP2Y46M5B3OHOKALDDGDHQCM Leandro

    Got the link?

  • Anonymous

Evanescence didn’t break up, a few members left the band to start their own band.  Evanescence has a new album out that’s doing quite well, so I think that may have been a bad move on her former band members’ parts, but I guess they had other ideas of what they wanted to do and had disagreements with Amy Lee.

  • Anonymous

Sorry Leandro, I posted it here but it was deleted.  Someone tweeted it so you can see it on his twitter feed – maybe someone else can figure out how to find it and link it here in a different way, I guess what I did wasn’t allowed.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/XDQP2Y46M5B3OHOKALDDGDHQCM Leandro

Thanks, thirdtime. I saw it. But I think he said just a couple of shows will be with the label mate,

Still Carly Smithson with We Are The  Fallen ? Never heard of them anymore,

This end=of-night collab with James Durbin joining another band is all kinds of looney-tunes fun. How does he hit those notes? Such a funny, goofy vid – looks like it was a good time.

Is this the same Jaren Johnston that co-wrote “She’s $$$” with Casey? Speaking of money, I’d pay quite a bit to see Cookie and Casey and Castro on the same stage.

  • Incipit

Yes, Caro3278sweet, same guy. I checked into his story when he sent the first tweet about writing with David. Interesting dude.

  • Anonymous

There’s another video floating around of James singing the whole song with the guys from the radio station (instead of them showing all those various clips in this video), but it was a little bit far away (kind of small).  I guess taken by someone in the audience.

  • Anonymous

Great to see that CaseyJ is play at the Opry again! Wonder how many songs he will get to perform this time?

  • GS61

    Is this the one?

I couldn’t stop watching this video last night (what I was doing when I stopped watching the Apprentice). There is something embarrassingly addicting about this song…it is so quirky and stupid, but entirely catchy. And it is great fun watching the radio guys and James perform it, I can’t imagine what it was like live. Seems no matter where he goes, James gets the crowd fired up.

  • GS61

    I couldn’t agree more.
    He’s a born entertainer.
Like I said before, He and his band are like a party on feet. I guess he has the same effect on other bands as well. lol
