According to the Associated Press, Carrie Underwood and Tony Bennett will present the Best New Artist award at the Grammys on Sunday.

About Last Night: Whitney Houston and ‘X Factor’s’ Stacy Francis Clash at Pre-Grammy Party – According to a source, after Francis performed an Etta James tribute and Houston joined Price on stage, the two were reintroduced in the VIP section. “It didn’t seem like Whitney remembered her, but she was cordial at first.” The scene changed minutes later when R&B star Ray J, who Francis had met over the years, stepped into the conversation. “Whitney just got belligerent,” an eyewitness tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Ray was trying to defend Stacy, telling Whitney, ‘Stacy’s family!’, but Whitney was feeling crowded out and hands were raised.” Fortunately, the situation was diffused without any punches thrown, but says the source, “You didn’t know which way it could go there for a minute.” When contacted by THR, Francis didn’t deny that the incident happened, but would only say, “I have the utmost respect for Whitney Houston and her talent.” – Read more at THR

MusicRowPics: Casey James Artist Visit – Sony Music Nashville artist, Casey James, stopped by MusicRow’s headquarters to perform songs from his self-titled 19 Recordings/BNA Records debut available March 20. Among the songs performed were his single “Let’s Don’t Call It A Night,” currently at No. 42 on MusicRow’s CountryBreakout Chart.
Casey had a hand in writing nine of the album’s 11 tracks and contributed lead guitar throughout. He also co-produced the album with Chris Lindsey, who co-wrote the album’s final track “Miss Your Fire” with Casey and Aimee Mayo. – See the Photos at Music Row

Durbin aims to please – I don’t really see a whole lot of difference. I’ve been playing in bars since I was 15. If there’s a stage, there’s a stage. If there’s a will, there’s a way. If there’s a stage, there’s somewhere to preform and to do what you love. I’ve always performed just as much on a 2×4 supported by two cinder-blocks then I have on a 100-foot stage in front of 15,000 people. As long as someone’s watching, I’ll play like its Wembley. – Read more at Libertyville Review

‘The Voice’ Chris Mann: ‘Glee fans are unlike anything else’ – The Voice contestant Chris Mann has said that he would welcome support from any Glee fans who watched him on the show. The opera singer appeared as one of The Warblers alongside Darren Criss before leaving the Fox comedy to pursue his musical dreams with a solo tour. Mann told reporters on a conference call: “I’m tickled at best to be associated with Glee. I was in the original Warblers group. I did ‘Teenage Dream’ with Darren Criss and then the first sectionals with Hey Soul Sister’s ‘Train’. Working on Glee is the most fun thing I’ve ever done up to The Voice.” – Read more at Digital Spy

Yay… Lee and no beanie :) So nice to see him busy… hoping for some new music soon too

    Stacy…even Whitney can’t stand you…plz have some dignity…give it up :P

  • ronnie

Lee is so cute, and he looks like he has lost weight, I wish he would get rid of that facial hair, he would look so much better without it

Aww, poor BB Adam, he does look sick and tired and he can use a sandwich and some soup. Can’t wait for Trespassing and as you know, I started putting money away for the secret Queen thingy. *off to check passport expiration date*

Here’s the thing…Whitney Houston needs to do is focus on going to vocal coaching to help her get her voice back and not embarassing herself getting in public arguments with X factor contestants. I liked Stacy on the show but I miss “Whitney” the singer.  I hope she has one more comeback left in her.

LOL. Stacy Francis published the same article on her facebook. I mean, it’s not even a positive article about her, but as long as people are talking about her she’s satisfied with it. I wonder how low can Stacy go for attention.

BTW, good to know James is doing sold-out shows.

Melanie is pretty with an amazing voice, but where is her star power? She looks and acts like she’s out of place in that video. Hopefully, she will be groomed to be more of a star when her album comes out…After all, Carrie’s star power grew more and more with each public appearance…it was amazing to witness.

I don’t think her people did her any favors by having her sing 2 covers in front of those celebs…it made her look like just contest winner IMO.

Well, I’m still happy with her being with Epic…I’m sure she’ll get the Leona Lewis treatment and be fab sooner or later. :)

Now that you mention it, that is a strange looking growth on Lee’s chin.  Maybe he’s getting ready to play an undertaker in a made-for-tv movie…a singing undertaker, of course.

I read the article and Stacy was not in the wrong.  Whitney was and it sounds like she is still having mental problems.  Stacey doesn’t have to give it up…she didn’t do anything wrong.  JMHO

I could watch Adam all night.

    Oh wait.

    I just did.

LOL at the end of that interview where Adam is playing with his hair with his left hand.  I was trying to read his ‘life line’ :-)  I am always astonished (and envious) of his ability to speak so eloquently.  He is such a charming person I think he might just have a touch of elfish in him. lolz

Vicci Martinez from Season 1 The Voice just performed on Leno tonight. She has a single out called “Come along” which is a duet with Cee Lo (She was on his team). It’s really not half bad.

  • LVD

Casey has been doing a lot of album promotion this week. Which is nice to see.

Good interview, I liked what he said about his Idol experience. I think he fully understood what the show was all about and worked it to his advantage. He wasn’t caught up in thinking it was competition, but a platform to be noticed by a Record Label. I think the Season 11 Idols could learn from him, to make each performance memorable.

He wasn’t caught up in thinking it was competition, but a platform to be noticed by a Record Label. I think the Season 11 Idols could learn from him, to make each performance memorable.

Considering that Season 10 holds the record for the number of Idols who scored record deals – last count was 8 out of the Top 11, so they must have done something right to be noticed. Of course the trick is to fast forward 5 yrs from now and who makes it beyond the first or 2nd album.

  • Anonymous

It’s not that the quantity of Idols signed that matters, it’s the quality of the artist and how they will compete after the show. How many out of that bunch is actually going to sell much or be remembered in a year. It’s easy to get noticed inside the Idol bubble, it’s totally different thing to have a viable music career afterwards. The majority of these people won’t have one, it doesn’t take a crystal ball to see that.

  • Anonymous

Yes he has been really busy! His schedule is really going to be crazy with 7 shows in a row starting today!

I can’t wait to hear “Miss Your Fire”!

CaseyJ has been quietly working the radio gigs for many, many months now. No big splashy shows, no huge promo, no awards, and probably no AI appearance. In five years, it will be interesting to see if this approach – rather unique in the AI world – is more successful than the “traditional” AI way of launching a music career.

  • getgetaway

But there are many others who have a viable music career that those from Season 11 can learn from. I am not a fan of Country music, but Scotty McCreery is a recent example of someone who is doing really well.  And of course there is Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry.  Granted, not everyone will have the mega careers of these folks.  But most who go through the Idol process end making music their careers.  Very few have to go back to their day jobs.  And that’s just music.  Then there is another group consisting of Jennifer Hudson, Constatine Maroulis, Diana DeGarmo, Kat McPhee, etc who have found success in the acting world.

Loved the interview Adam did with Lyndsey.  He wants to talk about Queen so badly.  :-)

He’ll be at Clive’s party tonight so we should get some red carpet pics!  (wonder what he’ll wear….hmmmm)

  • Anonymous

I never said Adam was the the only example of someone they could learn from. I just used him in response to an article. He had a good mind set going into and understood what the show was all about. It’s a platform to be used to get a music career. He was right that it’s one thing to be popular on a reality show, it’s a totally different thing to compete in the real world and be successful.

  • sf3456

Ugh.  Does he talk to anybody else other than this chick?  He must love talking to her because of the way she loses her mind over him.

  • Anonymous

I can’t wait to see the two of them on the red carpet. Your so right, Adam is about ready to explode with the secret he’s keeping. He’s like a little kid counting the days till he get’s to go to Disney World. I’m thinking two things, either opening at the Olympics or doing a mini-tour around England  with Queen celebrating the Queen Elizabeth’s 60th anniversary on the throne. I figure it’s something big and those two events are the biggest things coming up in England this year. Maybe I am wrong about all of it, but it’s fun speculating.

  • http://twitter.com/lorismile1 Lori

Yes he talked to more than just “this chick”.   He had quite a few interviews yesterday.  Based on the below comments from different interviews, Lyndsey isn’t the only one who loses her mind.

“One of my favorite interviews of the day was with Adam Lambert”

“I will contain myself. I will be a broadcast professional.  I will not squeal.  I will be an adult.  It’s Adam Lambert.”

  • http://twitter.com/lorismile1 Lori

I thought Olympics.  Never thought of Queen celebration for her birthday.  That would be pretty damn awesome!

Everything and anything would be awesome!  We’re in for an incredible year.

  • Anonymous

I don’t care what type of event it is, I just want to see Queen and Adam together. It’s going to be a crazy year and I can’t wait to see where this journey will take Adam.

  • Miss Chaos

    Queen, or The Queen, lol.

  • http://twitter.com/HaleysShindig HaleysShindig

Depend on what you consider a “Viable” music career. Over the past 10 years, many ex-Idols are still making music and not working typical day jobs so I consider anyone making music for a living having a “Viable” music career.
As to the S10 contestants, I can see every one of the 8 having to never have to bus tables again to make the rent.

  • Mateja Praznik

I remember during X Factor UK season 6 they had Queen week and Jedward explained in their intro: “It’s Queen week, so we met Queen … the band, not The Queen.” Then they murdered “Under Pressure”.

If the only standard of being a success is not having to ever bus tables again, then that can be said for most of the Idols that’s been on the show.

  • Anonymous

    Jedward murders everything they sing.

  • alterego

But most are making a living and supporting their families doing what they love – performing, writing their music.  That’s a pretty good life I would say.

  • Anonymous

The majority of them have adjust and be satisfied with what they end up with.

  • Anonymous

I agree HaleysShindig. It is such a huge leap just to be able to make your living as a musician – that alone is huge. And most of the top Idols are able to do that and then some. I’m in the camp that believes that the possibility of making that leap alone is reason to try out for Idol. Success, to me, encompasses a larger arena than top radio hits. Loving what you do for your living is not something that 80% of folks out there can honestly claim. I applaud all of these kids who are able to be in that 20% (or much less) that make a living doing what they are most passionate about.

  • Anonymous

I’m sorry but the once great Whitney but now not-great-at-all-so-over-you and the what-the-hell-is-real-and-fake Stacey Francis? It’s 1+1= 0. I’m normally about giving people a chance but I’m oh so over both of them. IMHO of course.

  • Anonymous

Ugh. Does he talk to anybody else other than this chick? He must love talking to her because of the way she loses her mind over him.

Adam loves talking to anyone because he is a people person. He especially loves to talk about his music and upcoming album because he feels so passionate about this upcoming era.

Yesterday, Adam did interviews with numerous PDs and DJs at the press day event for radio stations that are in LA for the Grammys. All of the interviews haven’t been uploaded online YET, but there are about five that are currently available to watch or listen to. Would you like the links to those interviews? I can give you the links to the other ones when they start appearing on the various radio station’s websites.

Reading my post again one day later….so sad that she has passed away.  Somber.
