Hey James Durbin fans, I was listening to my local morning show (CHR) and the DJs have a parody band called the 10 Thousand Marooniacs.  Anyway, they are playing in Lancaster, Ohio (near Columbus) 2 weeks from Friday and James Durbin and Cobra Starship will join them.  Joe Jonas did something like this and although it didn’t result in crazy airplay, they did play his song some.

Well, there are only so many two/three word combinations. I’d shudder to think if everyone went to the lengths Panic at the Disco did to avoid copying other song titles.

Saw this on scotty-mccreery.net.  Love how so many of the idol people are so giving for the benefit of others.

Scotty McCreery’s high school choral director, Meredith Clayton (who was gifted a Ford truck thanks to Scotty!), tweeted on Feb. 4 that an autographed guitar by Scotty McCreery was being auctioned off to benifit the Methodist Home for Children.Going once, going twice, and SOLDThe starting bid was $100, but in the end it was auctioned off for an incredible $2,500, and was valued as “Priceless” in the evening’s program!

Nope. Take just about any song title and type into ASCAP and you’ll be surprised at how many songs have had that title. The number one song on Pop radio is called “Good Feeling”. ASCAP lists 48 songs with that title (70 if you count the pluralized version “Good Feelings”). And not every song is registered with ASCAP.

Great to hear that they’ve picked Kris’s single!

The plot thickens.  FMQB is usually less reliable than All Access but I like seeing that it’s listed as going to Pop.  Nasri (co-writer with Kris) also tweeted that he’s excited for tomorrow & the next day.  Whatever that’s worth, lol.

I can’t wait for Haley’s album… they’ll probably release one of the songs I like least from the album which I’ll eventually hear but I’m sure the worst song will be great.

Since Kris said that he would be the one to let everyone know what the single is, I’m guessing he will announce it at his show on Thursday. Of course everyone will already know by then lol!

Yay! Fans suspected Carrie was doing more than just attending the Grammys after her coy “you never know” response at the fan club message board.

So, one week Carrie gets to sing with Steven Tyler. The next she gets to sing with Tony Bennett. Not only that, Carrie’s 1st Grammy performance was in 2007 (she won Best New Artist and Best Female Country Vocal Performance that year) and she’s performed at the Grammys every year since then except 2011.

Album promo’s definitely revving up! This won’t directly promote Carrie’s music but it’s at least music related visibility a couple weeks before her new single comes out.

I have a friend who is a huge James Durbin fan, and she said he is on vacation now, but is leaving on Valentine’s Day again to continue with the radio promo tour.  I asked her how she knows that and she said she saw tweets between Heidi and the girlfriends of the band members (yes…she is that big of a fan) and they were talking about the acoustic guys having to leave again on Valentine’s Day.  But don’t quote me on this…I didn’t see the tweets myself…just going by what she said.  But this must be part of their radio promo so it sounds like she is probably right.

I am soooo excited for Haley!!  I can’t wait to see what kind of music she is putting out and what her first single sounds like.  And how it does on the charts.

It is so unfair ( just kidding).
I’m a Carrie fan, I saw her live twice, the only solo idol that I’ve seen live other than Kris. I guess I’m jealous. It does not matter that her last album was more than 2 years ago, that she does not have a single out etc, she is still everywhere and get invited to sing any kind of genre of music.
That is why she is so big.

And Tuesday suppose to rain in the LA area, but by Thursday it is supposed to be good weather. I can’t wait !! And I’m getting nervous already, and I don’t know why . LOL.

AI’s musical director, Ray Chew, is directing a salute to Motown.  I guess Stefano will be part of that show.

But I believe it’s a short name for it. I think it’s “Stand for the vision of love”

Oh yea, that was a repeat and when I saw it for the first time back in April, I thought it one of the funniest things I’d seen on TV in a while! Great skit!

Yay for Haley!! Picking her band should be a fun experience. Can’t wait to see who gets the gig. Guess this means that live performances are just around the corner. It’ll be interesting to see how touring goes for her. Hopefully she’ll have a few solo shows that I can go to. Don’t have a clue as to which singer’s tour she might end up joining this year. Just like I can’t begin to imagine what her music will sound like. Exciting times ahead…

If Kris’s first single for his sophomore era isn’t VOL I’ll be shocked. lol I wonder if he’s going to reveal more album details at The Mint show. It would be great if we got official single news and an album title. Kris debuting new songs is enough for me though. The rest would just be a extra goodies on top of an already epic sundae. :)

Seems weird that they are just now getting around to auditioning people for Haley’s band. I’m used to the ex-Idols having this in place by the fall after they come off Idol. Hopefully they’ll find some great musicians to complement her and who will work together well as a band rather than just a bunch of backing musicians.

Hmmmm I wonder why they would bother at this point since the last song remaining on the charts seems as though its gone its length. Wonder if they are going to release another song.

I have the impression Haley likes to focus on one thing at a time. Plus she didn’t start making her album until after the tour. I expect she knows exactly what she wants and what she’s doing.

Plus she likely wanted to be more involved than you can be while on tour.

Well if they do release another single, it looks like it will be another aimed at the pop and HAC stations since those are the stations he is visiting.  That means the popular fan choice, Higher Than Heaven won’t be it again.

Maybe, but according to Mick Mars, “Outcast” could be the next single. To rock radio maybe?

Maybe they will release 2 singles again?  Unless they haven’t given up on Love Me Bad yet. It did move up another spot this week to #43 HAC, and 2 radio stations added it.

2 of the Band Auditions have leaked for Haley, both very funky/jazzy oriented players. In fact the keyboard player is coming back for a second audition and is practicing Jazz. Time to fanguy *Squeeee*
