Steven Tyler Says Outrageous Things About Paula Abdul

The new “Idol” judge was asked for his opinion on a former “Idol” judge when this question was posed to him: “What do you think of Paula Abdul’s new show [CBS's "Live to Dance"]?”

“I haven’t watched it … I just wish her luck,” Tyler said. “The world took the piss out of her for nodding out, something I’m not unfamiliar with. I guess she had problems with substances. Uh, I don’t know. She’s a real character and she’s great. She’s an artist. People are gonna look to see what she’s got going next. I wish her luck.”

And we wish him luck once this gets out.

Fox’s X Factor vs. Idol

There’s Mark Burnett’s Voice of America, due on NBC, and America’s Got Talent. Now comes Fox’s own belated import of The X Factor, with Simon Cowell cast in a new role as mentor rather than harsh judge. The show is due next fall.

Is there room for four? “I wouldn’t think so, and I don’t think there will be four” on the air for long, says Fox entertainment chief Kevin Reilly. But Factor, produced by Cowell, has “its own different energy; a lot of the mechanics are similar but the mentoring aspect is so major, the spectacle nature of it, the production of it feels very different. The rest of it is for the audience to decide,” he says, “but in a perfect world I’d like to see the competition between the two shows.”

‘Idol’ runner-up Crystal Bowersox looks back, ahead

Hollywood, California (CNN) — Crystal Bowersox is center stage at S.I.R. Studios in Hollywood, rehearsing two lines from her new single over and over: “You’d come home with bourbon breath, Jack in the air. And when you broke my bones, I told the school I fell down the stairs.”

They’re the most disturbing lyrics on the title track of her rootsy debut album, “Farmer’s Daughter,” and she wants to make sure the sentiment is punctuated.

Spoilers Anonymous In-Depth: ‘Glee’s’ Post-Super Bowl Episode

This special episode will focus on the local football championships and the cheerleading regionals. Sue will throw a hissy fit and try to destroy the locker room and the principal’s office. Katie Couric will appear in a scene with Sue, and Cory Monteith recently revealed that Artie (portrayed by Kevin McHale) will be doing a lot of the singing.

Vocal Adrenaline, including Charice reprising her role of Sunshine, will perform the Black Eyed Peas’ hit ‘Meet Me Halfway.’ Dalton Academy Warblers will sing Destiny’s Child’s ‘Bills Bills Bills.’ Some of the other songs performed in this special episode will include tunes by Lady Antebellum and Katy Perry.

But the musical performance fans are mostly looking forward to is the mash-up of Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller,’ with a yet-to-be-announced song. Finn, who will be one of the zombies in the tribute, will provide the spooky narration at the beginning of ‘Thriller.’

Lea Michele Never Meant to Hurt Young ‘True Grit’ Star

But Gossip Cop discovered that one key part of the story was omitted. It was not Lea Michele who “dissed” the talented ‘True Grit’ star. It was actually a production assistant, whose premiere role on set was to keep the show’s tenacious fans at bay.

Even though Lea wasn’t at fault for Hailee’s letdown, she still feels bad. “I heard Hailee was upset and feel terrible,” she said. “The ‘Glee’ schedule is so jam-packed that the PA probably pulled me so that I wouldn’t be late to set. I never meant to hurt her feelings. She’s an extraordinary talent and I look forward to meeting her one day.”

It’s done by Kate Ward who could also be in the running to replace Slezak for idol coverage, but this one is recycled stuff too.

Yeah, they do kinda recycle these things often.

As to Kate: would be far better for me (for you) than Adam Vary for the spot. I’m not entirely sure who I’d like to replace Slezak, but she’s not a bad choice.

  • 1952

Downloaded the full version of Crystals interview from itunes today. Good interview.

Steven Tyler might be the only thing that gets me to watch idol this year.

LOL at the pictures they used of Beiber and Adam!

I don’t know who puts a bigger smile on my face Pickler or Archie. I love them, they are such positive souls.

LOL at the pictures they used of Beiber and Adam

Damn, that picture of Adam should be banished. Poor baby looks like he’s not getting enough fiber. Where the hell did that one come from?

Duh, whoever leaked that must have thought we were stupid, lol. Will don’t need Simon Cowell, lol.

Thanks Cindy for that link. I am glad these entertainers are getting behind the Queensland flood appeal. I am not surprised by the Aussie stars doing this but I appreciate those performers who have been here getting behind this as well.
Its unbelievable devastation over a huge area of Queensland [30 + Brisbane suburbs have been affected as well]& now as the rivers & weather systems move south – NSW & other states are now being affected . Its the loss of life & missing people that are heartbreaking but the mess will also take months to clean up & houses to be rebuilt.
I feel so helpess here in Sydney- you want to help- all I can do is pray that everyone now stays safe & everyone bands together to help which is what seems to be happening. A few ransackers have been caught- so I hope that is nipped in the bud as well!!

  • cwm

judes– just wanted to let you know that my thoughts and best wishes are with you and your fellow Aussies. My heart goes out to so many who have been devastated by the floods. I hope that the rains stop, the waters recede, and recovery can happen as soon as possible.

  • Ratna12

Judes, the flood in Queensland is horrible. I saw it on TV and mother nature is too powerful for us humans.
I hope soon things will come back to normal again and thus limit the human loss.

I have a couple aunts and their kids, and cousins in Sydney and Darwin.
I need to go visit them in Sydney, someday. :)

It’s a still from an interview he did with them. It is MTV Australia, maybe it’s payback for his criticism of the Teen Mom show. :)

Judes, thanks for giving us more information about the flooding. I hope that any little bit that people can give will help the people there and my thoughts go out to those who’ve been affected.

  • gangreen29

I haven’t seen any speculation on who might get the elimination song this year. I’m thinking Universal would want one of their artists to get it, so I looked up who is signed to one of Universal’s labels from idol, and I think the only two are Clay and Katharine. Could one of them get it this year? Katharine’s mother is also working as a vocal coach for idol this year, maybe that could be more points in her favor lol? I would think at the very least both would be getting performance slots this year.

  • TopCatDC

Ah, Steven Tyler… this is about the quality of comment I expect from Tyler off the top of his head. Good luck with THAT, Fox!

  • CindyM

I think that the Idols that are managed by 19M have a better chance at a performance slot than Clay and Katherine, but you never know. Katherine has got great promoters behind her, Clay not so much anymore.

  • stellamarris

Loooove steven tyler! finally, an honest, funny, smart, wild dude who says what everyone thinks, holds nothing back and still manages to be cool and not mean.

  • suenigma

LOL at that Adam photo – it doesn’t even look like him. But the scolding comments on that article are kind of cringeworthy. Way to get MTV on Adam’s side, not.

  • opalruby

Yeah, given that the article is on the MTV Australia website, I think those comments are rather insensitive – instead of referring to the celebrities’ good intentions, all they are worried about is an unflattering picture of Adam?

If Oprah has anything to say about it- you’ll come sooner rather than later Ratna . Of course if you went to Darwin you’d have to go to Uluru[ Ayers Rock] as well.

They’ve just downgraded the level of the river in Brisbane from 5.5 metres to 5.2 m- still large but now it will “only” affect 36,000 houses rather than over 50,000.

instead of referring to the celebrities’ good intentions, all they are worried about is an unflattering picture of Adam?

Opalruby – I thought the comments were in poor taste too- the ones making those comments obviously have no idea how bad this situation is, or at least can’t see past their own noses to notice!

These kind of rabid fans have lost all perspective and their world revolves around the object of their affection. It can be pretty scary.
