Fantasia Barrino to return to ‘After Midnight’ – Sad you missed Fantasia Barrino on Broadway in “After Midnight”? Well, good news: She can’t stay away. Producers of the show said Thursday that the “American Idol” and Grammy Award winner will return in May to the musical celebrating Duke Ellington’s years at the Cotton Club nightclub in Harlem. Phillip Phillips, R.E.M.’s Mike Mills Among Record Store Day In-Store Performers – Barenaked Ladies, R.E.M.’s Mike Mills, Phillip Phillips and Mark Mulcahy are among the artists already confirmed to do in-store performances on Records Store Day, April 19. Barenaked Ladies will perform at Sunrise in Toronto, which will also include an appearance from Paul Rodgers; Mills will play the Bullmoose in Scarborough, Maine; Phillips plugs in at Rasputin in Berkeley, Calif.; and Miracle Legion founder Mulcahy will perform at the Brooklyn outpost of Rough Trade Records, RSD co-founder Michael Kurtz told Billboard following an event today at Amoeba Records in Hollywood announcing this year’s lineup. – Read more at Billboard.com

Now the Ohio-born singer-songwriter will bring her talent to Centre County with a performance at the State Theatre on March 24. Calling herself a product of the 1990s, the 28-year-old grew up on a diet of ’90s pop and alternative rock, just catching the tail end of the grunge-rock scene. Minneapolis singer happy to be on ‘The Voice’ – ST. MICHAEL, Minn. – Minneapolis singer Kat Perkins says she’s loving the competition on the NBC reality show “The Voice.” We caught up with Kat as she visited family in St. Michael. Choreographer Sonya Tayeh rockets to top of dance world – Sonya Tayeh’s documented start in dance came at a recital not far from the south Dearborn Heights, Mich., home where she grew up. She remembers it clearly in her mind, and an old video captures the pose. She was probably 5 or 6, and wearing a light pink tutu. She stood in first position, heel to heel, knees pointed out in the same direction as her toes. Her hand in front of her forehead shielded her from the stage lights as she peered into the audience. “I remember thinking, ‘Where’s my mom?’ ” recalled Tayeh. “She’s got to see this because I’m going to be amazing.” – Read more at USA Today
