American Idol’s Emily Piriz: The Judges “Have Been a Little Harder On Us This Year” – Of the judges panel overall, Piriz tells TVGuide.com: “They’ve been a little harder on us this year, but they just want us to do our best and they’ve been giving really great feedback. From Syesha to Sam: Advice from one ‘Idol’ to another – Though she doesn’t have a lot of time to keep up with the show that made her famous, “American Idol” finalist Syesha Mercado is excited to see another contestant from Bradenton as a finalist this season. Mercado is rooting for Braden River High School senior Sam Woolf as he makes his way through the show’s 13th season. “Everyone wanted me to do another song, but I wanted to do it,” she said. “I had an idea for it that worked for me and it turned out to be one of my standouts, because I did what I liked, what I felt. The best advice I can give him is what Mariah Carey told me. Be you. Be yourself, and just have fun.
