Bradenton ‘American Idol’ contestant Sam Woolf woos local crowds – PALMETTO — It’s not quite the Beatlemania of 50 years ago, but Woolfmania is spreading across Manatee County. The wave continued Saturday, when 17-year-old Braden River High School student and “American Idol” musical hopeful Sam Woolf held two concerts for his adoring “Woolfpack” fans and other admirers in his hometown. Grammy Winner Fantasia Barrino Plays Final Performance in Broadway’s After Midnight; K.D. Lang In the Wings – Grammy Award winner Fantasia Barrino, who won critical praise for her performance as the first special guest star vocalist in After Midnight, plays her final performance in the jazz-age musical revue Jan. 9. Grammy winner k.d. lang will be the musical’s next headliner.
