Locals get a chance to thank Scotty McCreery – Judith and Kenneth Garloch were hoping to meet Scotty McCreery as soon as they heard he was coming to Newark. Judith said she thinks McCreery helped save her life. The Newark couple typically watches TV in separate rooms, but in May 2011, they were both watching McCreery on “American Idol.” Judith suffered a massive heart attack during the show and Kenneth was able to perform CPR immediately and call 911.
