    I love my sweet tea.

Heck, I’m quite a good southern cook, if I do say so myself. I do an excellent fried chicken, which I consider to be the most difficult dish to perfect in all of cooking. I learned from my grandmother who fried chicken for a couple hundred every week at the Sunday smorgasboard restaurant she ran in her old farmhouse. I’m pretty good at fried pork chops, too ‘” one of my favorites. And, I do serious bar-b-que, slow smoking pork shoulders for 12 hours and baby-back ribs for six hours. I’m partial to Maurice’s South Carolina mustard based sauce, but with the airline regs, it’s hard to carry it home from South Carolina these days and, besides, my suitcase is full of country ham.

I usually make a middle-Georgia style thin catsup/vinegar/blackpepper/sugar based sauce from recipe passed along from former Georgia Insurance commissioner Jimmy Bentley. I do my ribs dry with a rub ‘” Memphis style ‘” and then serve the sauce on the side (in a plastic squeeze bottle, of course).

Hell, I’ve even caught catfish in a Mississippi pond, hooked em on a nail to skin ‘em with old pliers, and carried them up to the kitchen to fry ‘em up, so I’ve been around the block a time or two with Southern cooking.

Gaaahhh! I just gained fifteen pounds.

We will all know you’re going soft if you ever slip and type the name “Kris” ;)

Folks, the secret ingredient of the chicken spaghetti is not Velveeta (though that is important)…it’s the Rotel! Seriously, Chris Sligh’s fans planned their initial picnic get together in 2008 because of a discussion around Rotel. We even gave it as a party favor.

    Chicken spaghetti-awesome dish, don’t knock it till you’ve tried it. : )

Dump cake–actually very tasty, and quick and easy, hence it’s popularity. My family loves a version from Savannah Cinnamon Company that’s on their Blackberry Mix bottle…you use the crushed pineapple, pour on the blackberry mix and you get a faux blackberry cobbler.

    Lol! Cute!

My sister moved to Michigan a couple of years ago, besides her car freezing to the ground, the thing she hated most was the food. She and her BF ordered biscuits&gravy at a restaurant for breakfast, she said what she got was NOT biscuits and gravy. (prolly not enough bacon drippings, LOL)
