A ton of things were taken out of context, misunderstood & blown up (mainly by VFTW, who else? rofl)….but there is no denying some of Jason’s fans are overly…erm…generous. Though the same can actually be said for the other fanbases. Cook recieved an $800 pair of boots, platinum chain etc. & Kirsty Lee & Ramiele ASKED their fans for gifts but their cases were totally dismissed *eyeroll*. Jason’s mom personally told many people that “Jason has enough presents sweetie, he doesn’t need anything!” but quite a few people were still baffled as to why she didn’t make some grand public announcement and say, “Stop with the gifts!” etc.

Regarding the rest;

Correction: I said he has PR people now when in fact he’s had a professional team for quite a while – I only found out yesterday, lol. People assumed Jason’s parents were trying to take charge of his career when *in fact* his PR team are the ones who have been advising him on these decisions.

He’s a 21 yr old kid who comes from a really close-knit fam and has been thrust straight into the spotlight. He still finds a lot of things overwhelming & his parents tried to ease things in the only ways they knew how – staying close to & around him (sparking off Dadchuleta-esque rumors!). I feel bad for them for having been through that but I am glad Jason has “people”.

As for Cook & Archie, they’ll have a PR each no doubt! All the Idols have some sort of team that deals with public relations & judging from the amount of bodyguards often/always surrounding Cook & Archie, my guess is they have the most recources.

How the Castros have dealt with fandom was perceived by some as inappropriate (alleged gift hinting, fans funding a future gig, sourcing photos for merchandise, even the announced fee for his official fanclub, plus other points of contention). It was a topic for debate at some sites (like some of Michael’s interviews I guess), and a few anti-Idol fandom blogs documented the issue. So yeah, the criticism can really get vicious (take some Idols reportedly being rude to fans and the like)-I’m actually relieved that the recurring dig against Michael is his ego.

It’s all POV, really. Just as Jordin’s recent snark can be condescending to one person and refreshingly rebellious to another. It’s all good.

Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m not much of a fan of Michael, didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think he left too early, never found his elimination shocking at all, (Nigel totally give it out the day before). So of course I find his comments arrogant as can be. But guess people like me donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t matter to him anyway.

The think is IMO I never saw any different in him… I while a go I read a review at Rickeys from a guy that said that even when MJ renditions were good there was nothing in them that made you prefer them over the originals… as a different from Cook ´s Billy Jean and Hello, or Archie ´s Angels (I ´m huge Robbie Williams fans I am liking his version more and more every time)/SBM/Smokey Mountain Memories/Imagine or WYSYLM…

I think his acts, like he was trying way to hard to be funny… I ´ll rather Jason, Archie and Chikezie ´s act as more funny and natural…

About him getting one of the loudest ovationa and getting voting off way to early…

Of course, it could have been scripted. Even “off the cuff” stuff is scripted these days. *shrugs*

He clearly got under the skin of one celebrity, however, with his jokes about promise rings, which the Jonas Brothers wear to signify their virginity. Another famous promise ring wearer, Jordin Sparks, said before giving out one award:

“I just wanna say, it’s not bad to wear a promise ring because not every guy and a girl wants to be a slut, OK?” she quipped.

ETA: Plus, Jordin’s comment sounds a little judgmental. Her choice is great, and I support it. But to suggest anyone who doesn’t make the same choice is a “slut” seems OTT to me. Again, I’m only reacting to the reports here b/c I didn’t see the show.

Gossip rags say the Jonas Bros arenà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t living up to their promise rings.

yeah that wouldn’t surprise me. but then again….their father is a pastor….although jessica simpson’s dad was a pastor and look at that family, lol.

Just wanted to say that I didn’t view that statement from Michael as giving credit to DC. What I took from it was that in the end, DC won because he had loyal voters. This doesn’t necessarily translate to his saying that DC deserved his win because he was simply better than Archie overall.

Oh well, I do hope MJ didn’t mean to “rain on DC’s parade”, so to speak. Being a friend, he’s supposed to be in DC’s corner. At any rate, David better get used to people around him having their own hidden agenda. That’s showbiz. People aren’t always what they seem. . .

As for MJ, I’m not invested enough to read the interview. I’ll look out for his music and I’ll buy it if I like it. He could call Jason “dumb as rocks” and I’d still buy his music if I liked it. He does seem defensive about his 8th place finish, though. He should just say that he feels like he already won by getting so far. Yada yada. Idol fans are harsh and unforgiving.

Jordin FTW!!!!!!!!! I am SO impressed! That took guts to go off script and stand up for what you believe in especially when you are so new to the business!
