Unless she is hiding something (due to contracts), I believe Danielle Calato didn't even get out of the first round (unfortunately - since she has amazing clips on YouTube that sound as good as many finalists)...

Sounds like a lot of real talent this year- however, my preference is the year that we have the amateurs- the undiscovereds. The Kelly's- Carrie's, Fantasia's, etc normal people working normal jobs who catch a break and acheive their dream.

It's not nearly as exciting for me to watch a bunch of professionals who have been at this for years but want a record deal.

From what I've heard, young Chase Foster would have been ideal for this contest. You know, not your average teenager, more of an old soul. His sound is unique, not like all the bubble-gum pop. The judges might have made a mistake. I'm sure they had their reasons though. I read where they told him to be sure to come back next year. They thought he could have been another Daughtry. It's hard to know what they're looking for each year.
Jermaine Paul is already one-up on everyone. He is a very seasoned contestant and goes in with tons of the experience for television. He will go far in this contest.
Did anyone hear if Danielle Calato from New Jersey made it through? Boy, she has a gorgeous voice. Very beautiful too.
How about Baylee Brown?? I read somewhere where she got a record deal recently. Maybe that's why I don't see her name on the updated list. Who knows??????

From Wiki: Their performance was nominated for the Grammy Award for "Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals" in 2006.

He could be the first Grammy Award nominated CONTESTANT in any IDOL contest anywhere in the world.

Wouldn't that be something! I think the success of many former Idol contestants (and selling even 100K CDs is a measure of success to someone who hasn't sold but a handful) has inspired people who are more established to give it a shot. I think this year could be one of those seasons that are top-heavy with talent and like season five, many will break out after the show is over. I want to temper my excitement, but I am starting to get psyched.

I Wonder what the heck happened to Jermaine Paul such that he would still remain obscure and has to go through the pain of American Idol.

Just look at his background from Wikipedia :

Jermaine Paul (born Jeremiah Jermaine Paul on July 18, 1979), is a Grammy Award-nominated American R&B/soul singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist.

He began traveling extensively throughout the world as an opening act and background vocalist to winning Grammy Awards musician, Alicia Keys. He was hand picked by Alicia Keys herself, out of the crowd one night at a club in New York to come onstage for an impromptu performance for her. She was so impressed with his talent that night, she later invited him to become one of her background singers. Since then, he had numerous collaborations with her which included the duet "If This World Were Mine", that earned a Grammy nomination nod.

LMAO These are all professionals! Remember when Idols were green, nobody knew their name, race, they had no videos, promo....now it seems everybody who goes through Idol is a professional....hmmm...I kind of like the "unfound" talent....not the seasoned one who's looking for a break...

It's typical for a contestant to sing several songs in front of the judges; however, the producers will air what they want to air. My friend who made it to the top 75 (yes, JUST top 75, not even top 24 or 44) sang FOUR songs in his audition for the judges.
