During a recent interview with Israeli television personality Assi Azar, May was played a 2005 video of Lambert singing the popular song Shir L’Shalom, (Song for Peace). Haley Reinhart to fuse today and yesterday with No Vacancy Orchestra – Reinhart, who grew up in Chicago, was raised by musician parents who’ve had their own group — Midnight — for 40 years.
“I’ll credit them (parents) as much as possible … it’s been really great to have them as my guides and my teachers,” Reinhart says. “They are my biggest influences … they’ve showed me everything from jazz and blues to rock and classical even. I feel lucky.” Even though she’s been singing since the young age of 7 — “it’s pretty cool because my parents always brought me up onstage at an early age, now when I go home I get to pull them up” — Reinhart became known to the public after placing third in Season 10 of “American Idol,” which she called “an incredible platform.” – Read more at Atlantic City.com

Idol takes stage Saturday – “In the grand scheme of things, it has just been five years since ‘American Idol,’ but those are five big years in anyone’s life — you’re growing as a person, finding your voice. Carrie Underwood Sees Correlation Between ‘Church Bells’ and Reba’s ‘Fancy’ – “‘Church Bells’ is…it’s like ‘Fancy’s’ little sister,” the Oklahoma native said with a laugh. “Reba and ‘Fancy’ and she gets out and makes a name for herself…she’s got her dancing dress and all that stuff. This one’s kind of…she starts out, you know, she’s young, she’s pretty, she’s poor. Doing what she can to survive. Meets a man that has a lot of wealth, and it is supposed to take care of her, and get her out of this, and she ends up with him and he ends up not being a good guy and all and it forces her to be strong, and it forces her to do something that she never thought she’d be able to do.” – SoundsLikeNashville

Michelle Chamuel Is More Than That Queer Girl With Glasses From “The Voice”: The Autostraddle Interview – You have some new projects in the works. Tell me all about them. Basically, I’m writing a lot of music that’s probably a few album’s worth, but it’s coming out over time as various EPs. I wrote so many songs! I’ve been done about a month now. As I’m working on this project, I’m remembering what got me into music in the first place. Music is about vibrations, whether you’re standing in front of a speaker or someone is talking to you, you’re getting hit with waves, even though you can’t see or feel them. That’s why music resonates. – Read more at Autostraddle
