“American Idol” finalist Melinda Doolittle to sing love songs in concert in Charleston – She will be singing songs from her first two albums, “Melinda Doolittle,” released in 2007, and “You’re the Reason” from 2013, as well as new songs she has been working on. She is calling her tour “It Must Be Love” and she will perform love songs by great singers such as Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Gladys Knight and Aretha Franklin. She will intersperse the songs with stories about love, “the ups and downs of it,” she added. “Most of it is funny when it comes to me. I haven’t had the best of luck. One Direction Still “Shocked” at Their Success on the Road – The fact that 1D, currently readying their fifth album for release next month, can continue to draw such huge crowds on the road is something that even the band themselves finds hard to comprehend. “We still can’t believe…and I say it on stage every night, but not a lot of artists get to play stadiums. Dancing’s Derek Hough: The Response to Bindi’s Dance Is “Beautiful and Lovely” – I have Alexa for the switch-up and she’s awesome. She has an amazing capacity for movement. She can truly be a great dancer. My goal with her is polishing everything. I want refinement and to make her look clean and strong. We have a pretty cool concept in mind too for our tango. It’s only her second ballroom dance after her first this week, but I don’t feel like she’s behind or anything. She’s doing great and learns quickly. I also teach differently on the show than I would in a regular class, like how to do the proper technique for the tango frame. I think we all do on some level because of the constraints of the show. For me, it works better in this setting even if it’s not the proper way to teach it. You always have to adapt on the show. – Read more at TV Guide
