American Idol season 2 runner up, Clay Aiken is working the audition tables at today’s American Idol 15 cattle call in Philadelphia, at the Liacouras Center at Temple University. “It is very full in here,” Aiken told Billboard. “I’m a little nervous. This is a big deal in the life of everybody in this room. He told the crowd, ” “You have to be yourself.” He said: “None of them came in fabricating a personae. I certainly didn’t. Ruben Studdard didn’t. Kelly Clarkson didn’t. Carrie Underwood didn’t. They all came in and were themselves. A lot of people walk up to these tables dressed up and think they know what a pop star is, and that’s the death knell in some ways.” On the crowd: “While the crowd Sunday was large, Lynn said it was nothing like the estimated 21,000 people who turned out when auditions came to Philadelphia in 2007 at ‘the height of ‘Idol.’ Still, he said, this was ‘a great crowd, and well-behaved.'” – Read more at Billboard and Courier Post Online
