HDD – Album Sales Prediction : Dec 2-8

With 69.42% of reports in, Garth Brooks is set to move to the top of the chart. “Blame it on all my Roots” is a 6 disk compilation album sold exclusively at Walmart. It was originally released late the previous week for the Black Friday weekend and still managed third on the HDD chart despite only four days in sales. Garth continues to sell well into this week.

Last week’s number one, One Direction is currently in 2nd, but Hits predicted on the weekend they could end up as far back as 5th depending on a close race between 2nd through fifth. It’s looking like they are likely to have a significant drop in their second week in the 80% range. Yikes!

I guess people want duck instead of turkey for their Christmas dinner, because that turkey of a CD from the Duck dudes who are willing to lend their names to anything that they will think will make a buck (from Chia pets to camo stockings to wine glasses made out of mason jars – make hay while the sun shines!) is selling like moon shine at a how down. They are currently in third and could be second for the week.

Britney Spears has the highest debut of the week and this seems to be a bit of a half-hearted effort for the ex-X-factor judge. Idol’s Kelly Clarkson is in 5th and her Christmas special is soon to go head-to-head with the Duck’s own Christmas special. You can either watch Kelly sing or a Duck try to teach his wife and granddaughter how to catch a wild hog. Your call. Eminem is 6th, Now 48th is 7th, Katy Perry is 9th and Jake Owen is 10th.

The CD for the live “Sound of Music” which starred Idol’s Carrie Underwood is debuting in 8th. Pentatonix from NBC’s now revived “The Sing-Off” is having the year of their lives with their Christmas album from last year currently in 11th. Susan Boyle from BGT slides up to 15th with her latest Christmas album. In their third week, Daughtry is at 33rd. Danielle Bradberry (most recent winner of the Voice) and Scotty McCreery (Season 10 winner of Idol) are neck and neck at 37th and 38th respectively. It is Danielle’s second week. Finally, Fantasia and Jordin Sparks are featured on the “Best Man Holiday” soundtrack which is at 45th.
