With 54.02% of the market reporting in, Carrie Underwood seems destined to top the BB200 chart for a second week in a row. When was the last time an Idol did that? Have they ever done that? In any event, not many acts get to do that. Adele, of course, has, but we’ve established that she’s a very special case indeed. If anybody threatens Carrie’s domination of the chart this week, it is Adele who is lurking at number 2 and predicted to finish there.

NOW 42 features songs from Kelly Clarkson and 1D. It is currently third. Lionel Richie, who was recently a mentor on The Voice, is showing a lot of legs at 4th. B.O.B. is 5th with Luke Bryan is 6th. The two “Up All Night” albums are again right next to each other on the chart with 1D’s version at 7th and Kip Moore’s at 8th. Mary Mary is the top debut at 9th and the Avenger’s Soundtrack rounds out the top 10.

Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger” is at 35 and she appears on Jason Aldean’s album “My Kinda Party” at 12th. Jennifer Hudson sings the title track of the “Think Like a Man” Soundtrack at 30th. Katharine McPhee is featured on the “Smash” Soundtrack residing at 48th. Voice judge Blake Shelton’s album is at 18.

Yay Carrie! Despite the fact that I do love Adele, I’m so sick of seeing her at the top of the chart. What gives?  I would think everyone would own the album by now. Are people starting to buy copies for their unborn children?

And yay Adam for scoring a great Top 40 add - Chicago – WKSC.

Doesn’t Marcus Canty have a song on the Think Like A Man soundtrack?

My God! Adele’s 21 sales are out of this world.

  • Troy Mccoy

Yes he does. His current single Wont Make A Fool Out of You, that is currently charting on the Urban charts is on the soundtrack. I did not know that he had a song on a soundtrack before you pointed it out. I looked up the soundtrack on itunes and saw his song on it.

I am actually surprised that song has a such a slow climb. It is actually a good song. I like it and this is coming from someone who wasn’t a really big fan of his on the XFactor.

I am actually surprised that song has a such a slow climb. It is actually a good song. I like it and this is coming from someone who wasn’t a really big fan of his on the XFactor. I really could hear Usher singing this and making it a hit. The song is just moving slow because marcus doesnt have a big name.

It’s also more of an Urban AC song.  It would still be moving slowly, if LA Reid pushed it to that format, but it would be a better fit, and give him more of a radio presence ahead of the release of his album.

I am trying not to be overly optimistic, but darn the 2 on itunes, 5 on Amazon and 1 on B&N are making it very hard.
