Brian Mansfield over at Idol Chatter interviewed the Top 11 before the Nashville Idols Live concert. Here, with the “cat out of the bag” Haley talks excitedly about her upcoming debut album set to be released on Interscope Records.
She knows her signed castmates, Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina and Pia Toscano are working hard to put out albums quicky, but Haley prefers to take her time. She doesn’t want to begin working on her album until the tour is over in September.
Despite the fact that Interscope has a lot of pop and hip hop recording artists, Haley is looking forward to making a record that is organic, soulful and bluesy. “I’ve got to step forth and really show them what I’m made of, ” says Haley, “I’m really excited about it.”
Her dream is to get her own original songs on the album. Casey has added chords to some of her older songs–she’s always writing poetry, melodies and hooks. Speaking of Casey Abrams, she hopes to duet with him on the new album.
Haley’s hometown show is coming up. When she’s in the Chicago area, she plans on seeing Paul McCartney in concert!
