I just bought the Itunes version, it is amazing! I love this show. My favorite parts are actually Artie and Mercedes.

I’ve been waiting for this one since I read they’d use the song.
So much awesome together.
And last episode was my favorite episode. I love that the show keeps getting better.

From what I’ve read, Kristin is a high school dropout and comes back to finish school and she’s a ringer. For a rival school I think.

I may have dismissed this show too soon. I keep hearing such great things about it (not just here, but everywhere).

The Glee tunes are dominating the pop chart on iTunes, currently.

I just love this show so much. Is it over the top, yes. Is it unrealistic, probably. But is it hysterical, entertaining and touching?…ABSO-freakin-LUTELY.

Watching Amber Riley (“Mercedes”) sing that last note in the live Upfronts performance of “Somebody To Love”, you wonder what the AI producers were thinking when they rejected her when she auditioned. Of course, she was only 17 at the time – not sure how old she is now.

“Taking Chances” is written by Kara D. A song like that would have been nice for the coronation song! I guess it’s hit or miss when you’re writing songs.
When is the Glee soundtrack coming out for sure? I’m holding back my 17 yr old from downloading all the singles!

I think this is the best song the Glee club has done (and Cory/Finn is getting better at his vocals). I also like that they seem to have improved the lip-synch problems in the second and third episodes. This really does look like they are singing (that really is them singing, but for production reasons, they have to lip-synch for the TV show)

Clip is too short. I want to see the entire thing.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this show and I think my favorite character is Kurt! He is so bold and brave and hysterically funny at the same time! Anywho, they are singing my absolute favorite Queen song next week…I just may weep!

Wednesday is my new favorite night, w/SYTYCD and Glee double header! Looking forward to seeing Kristin Chenoweth, and hearing her sing. Loved Pushing Daisies and am sad it has gone the way of most smartly written shows. It sucks when TPTB pander to the lowest common denominator.

tiger92, the soundtrack comes out on 11/3. I think MJ put up a blog post with the track listing a few weeks ago, but can’t remember for sure. I know it’s out there somewhere, but not all the tracks that are available on iTunes right now are going to be on the soundtrack. The big ones are, but for example, I don’t think “Push It” is.

I can’t wait til Wednesday! I got “Somebody to Love” on Tuesday when it first hit iTunes and have been listening to it all week. LOVE. It sounds so great! I also got “Taking Chances” and it is FANTASTIC. I love Lea Michele’s voice and I really like her take in that song. It’s not dreck like Celine Dion’s version.

Oh man, thanks MJ. I’ve been eagerly anticipating the “Somebody to love” perfomance. The studio version is just stunning. I can’t wait to see it on Wednesday. I’m so excited!

They better not cut Artie’s vocals when they air this on the TV show. His parts were very good on the full-length version.

ETA: But… based on the live version from the upfronts, that’s probably what will end up on the episode. All Finn and Rachel and Mercedes.

Need I stress that I love Glee? I’ve been waiting for this particular song. I love to sing it, much to the chagrin of my family and friends.

Wow, this is fantastic. The live version is too.

And it’s just another reminder that Freddie Mercury was a freaking genius.

Two things make this show work. Tone and talent. The writing isn’t always even and the first few episodes stumbled here and there, but the show is getting smart by maintaining a surreal / alterna-reality sorta tone, as MJ wrote. And the kids on this show are just crazy talented. These are kids I’d watch sing just about anything. How they got them all on one show was a coup. And Jane Lynch, well, she is a treasure. I’ve been a fan of hers for years and in Sue she has found her perfect “mainstream” type. If she isn’t at least nominated for an Emmy next year, I’ll send hate mail to every academy member.

Indeed, this show is addicting. When the pregnancy plot jumped at me, I thought, “What the heck?” I’ll watch and anxiously await for the musical and dance numbers. It’s a crazy little thing called love.

Every number makes me wish they had put more effort into the casting. Lea Michele is just way to far above the rest of the cast in vocals. Somebody to Love really makes this standout. Cory Monteith (Finn) just doesn’t come close to cutting it as male lead vocals.

Count me as another one obsessed with Glee. It’s unlike anything I’ve seen on a tv show.

Somebody To Love is probably my 2nd favorite Queen song after Bohemian Rhapsody, and that’s saying something! Can’t wait for this episode .

Yep, love this show. Campy, creative and a decent attitude towards alternative lifestyles. I’m a fan. Thanks for posting on this show, MJ. So far, I’ve loved all the renditions of the shows they have taken on.

I think that’s the point, though. How would the storyline of Rachel being better than everyone else work if she WASN’T better than everyone else. This show may thrive on surrealism and exaggeration in almost everything, but I think the thing that makes it work IS the cast, in each actor’s and thus, character’s, imperfections.

Because realistically, there is no “perfect” showchoir, where everyone is a Rachel Berry. Every showchoir has those one or two standout singers/performers who get all the solos. Even with the exaggerated storylines and typical surrealistic feel in some of the scenes, this is still the most accurate representation of any REAL showchoir that I’ve ever seen depicted on tv or in movies.

I understand your POV, but I don’t agree. For me, it wouldn’t be nearly as interesting if everyone was a classically trained, perfect singer. I LOVE Lea Michele and think she has an incredible voice, but I also love seeing the way the writers flesh out the other characters, and their struggles with realizing that they CAN do it, even if they aren’t as good as Rachel.

I however don’t like Rachel’s voice. My favorite numbers must have to be Bust your windows and I wanna sex you up. Puck’s is one hottie boy. I love him!!!!!

I’m so hooked on this show. Can’t wait for the next episode.
