Oh. My. Gosh. Glee stars, Darren Criss and Lea Michele performed a gorgeous rendition of  ”Falling Slowly”  at the Big Brother Big Sister Of Rising Stars Gala at The Beverly Hilton Hotel Friday night.

The tune is from the Tony award winning Broadway show Once. That’s how Lea and Darren identified it, but many of you know the movie the production is based on, and that the song also won an Academy Award.

Lea joked that they choose the songs they perform outside of the show hoping that Glee co-creator, Ryan Murphy, will notice and incorporate it into the show. HERE’S HOPING, because the duo’s delicate, emotional rendition is absolutely lovely.

Omg, that was beautiful. Outside of Glen and Marketa, that’s the best version of that song I’ve ever heard. <3333 it.

One of the more beautiful songs written in recent years nice rendition of it.

It’s good but I still prefer Kris Allen’s performance

Wow, this is absolutely gorgeous. I love Darren and Lea’s duets, and hope we get many more of them this season. I need a studio version of this one, for sure.

This was lovely. I wish we had a video with better sound.

This song works better as a duet. The duet between Lee and Crystal on AI 9 was excellent!

Isn’t Lea in the process of making an album ? She should have a duet with Darren Criss on this album….

Am not a real fan of Darren Criss but I have to admit that my favorite male/female duet on Glee until now is still from Season 3  ”One hand, One heart” (West Side Story)… because their voices (and not the Finchel/Klaine images) turns me from a cynic into a hopeless romantic…

  • Axxxel

Totally agree with you…the problem is the story lines… what will make Darren’s and Lea’s character duet with each other ?  I only remember
    “Don’t speak”…  :-(

They can always find some excuse if they want to… I mean, they had Rachel duet with Marley via split narrative editing… Blaine doesn’t have to be in NYC to duet with her.

I basically just want a good recording of this song, because I’m addicted to the low quality audio rip from this video. I never thought I’d get a good quality recording of Darren’s acoustic Teenage Dream arrangement, so after that, I feel like I can hope for more of his live arrangements to end up on the show.

  • Axxxel

yeah… that Teenage Dream rendition was so good… *tear*… sigh… Maybe you should tweet Darren and Lea… and compliment them… or even better.. tweet Ryan Murphy hehehe…

Such a pretty song!  I love this duet.

Glad that Kris Allen made this song a lot more well known because of his love for the movie Once -which I now love as well[I wouldn't have known about the film or the song had it not been for him] This is a nice duet by Darren & Lea but I prefer Kris & his mates harmonies which he sang at Joe’s pub in NY on the weekend.

Ugh, I just love these two. Their voices blend so wonderfully. This was beautiful, and I agree with you all – I really want a recorded version of this.
