Glee Spoilers from the TCA Press Tour

Glee executive producer, Ryan Murphy is revealing even more spoilers to writers attending the Glee panel at the TCA Press Tour this afternoon. Check out more spoilers HERE and HERE.

Highlights: Adam Shankman will direct an episode, Susan Boyle hopefully appearing in the holiday episode, Paul McCartney sent a mixtape.  More spoilers from Zap2it

UPDATE: According to Zap2it, Ryan Murphy reveals that Idol approached him to be an Idol judge! He would not comment further.

Here’s a summary of tweets:

  • The first episode back is called “Audtions” and is about the concept of constantly auditioning in live. The 3rd episode Murphy calls their “most controversial” and is called “Faith”. (I’m guessing this is the episode when Kurt goes to church with Mercedes)
  • The only note given to the omnipresent, but silent piano player is, “You hate those kids.” They envision him at home with voodoo dolls of the kids.
  • So You Think You Can Dance judge, Adam Shankman will direct one of the first 10 episodes. Josh Whedon may direct another Glee episode as soon as his movie wraps.
  • Susan Boyle hopefully doing the Glee Christmas special to be timed with the show’s holiday album release.
  • Murphy says they have four years mapped out with the original cast, and then the kids will graduate.  “Brittany, the character that we love, will be held back every year.” Ha.
  • They’re looking at a lot of stills of Britney Spears to find her “iconic looks” in connection with doing their Britney episode.
  • Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) writes her autobiography, they create the book and Jane Lynch goes out and does a book tour as Sue. (That would be hilarious).
  • A Super Bowl episode revolves around a to-be-announced artist (NOT Paul McCartney). A later episode will feature only original songs, likely five, written for the show.
  • Says Murphy, “I got a mix tape from Paul McCartney a few weeks ago, I thought I was being punk’d.”
  • Glee Season 2 will spend more time with the “core cast”
  • American Idol approached Ryan Murphy to be an Idol judge!  Murphy doesn’t comment on that further.
  • Rachel’s two gay dad’s won’t be seen this year.
  • Committed to making Santana the world’s meanest cheerleader ever.  Quinn will be  back on the squad.
  • Rocky Horror episode is set for Halloween. Murphy is directing.
  • The Glee reality series will run on Oxygen next summer. New cast member will be added for Season 3

    heather morris is brilliant as brittany. and the writers obviously love writing for her as well because the one-liners she gets are the best one, always.

    I’m thinkin heather is just very very thankful that SYTYCD didn’t work out for her.

    Brittany is my favorite character also. She has the absolute best lines, all short, and she delivers them with the precision of a S.W.A.T sniper. I can’t stand Britney Spears, but I think I will enjoy that episode anyway.

    I think it’s hilarious they are going to have Susan Boyle on.

    I want SuBo to come on and sing a Xmas song which will be both on her Christmas Album (you know she’ll have one) and the Glee Xmas album (they’ll have one as well).Both albums will then absolutely dominate the holiday charts. Deranged cat lady for the win.

    I really like Brittany but I’m not sure if I’ll like a ton more of her, I think the reason she works so well is because it’s all well placed one liners….hopefully I’m proven wrong though!

    I love Brittany too. Her lines cracked me up all the time. Some of my favs are:

    “Did you know that dolphins are just gay sharks?”

    “I sometimes forgot my middle name.”

    “I’ve been here since first period. I had a cold and took all of my antibiotics at once… and now I can’t remember how to leave.”

    The question is…who is going to wear the red “Opps I Did It Again” suit?

    Can’t wait to see that Faith episode. I love it when creative people are not afraid to dig on that subject in an edgier way.
