In this week’s “Special Education” episode of Glee, Kurt arrives at the Dalton Academy for Boys and is greeted warmly by his classmates, including new BFF Blaine.

Unfortunately, his introduction into the Warblers is less than triumphant, as you’ll see from the short preview clips after the jump.

Poor Kurt. Sometimes paradise isn’t all it’s cracked up to be!

…stray cat rescue at the bottom of a coal mine. oh Kurt

Just curious on how many Kurt-centric episodes we’ll see this year.

Well, since the producer of the show was so enamoured with Chris Colfer’s initial audition for Glee that he created the character of Kurt for him, and Chris was the only one of the glee club members to score an Emmy nod, (Jane Lynch from the show won hers), I suspect Kurt will feature prominently in storylines. Chris Colfer has become the breakout star of the show, kind of like a lesser version of Fonzie to the Cunninghams, the original stars of Happy Days.

All 3 preview videos say “this video has been removed by the user”.

I keep seeing this all around the internet, but it is not correct. Lea Michelle who plays Rachel Berry on the show (one of the student members of the Glee club) was nominated for Emmy in the Best Actress category for her acting in the role. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe and wone a SAG Award for the same role.

I liked the ensemble show they had last year, but if they have decided to turn it into the Kurt Hummel Hour with your weekly PSA (“It’s fun to push kids in wheelchairs down the stairs, but pushing kids into lockers is EVIL!”) then I’m not sure I’m still interested.

Oops, I stand corrected. I just didn’t remember Lea getting much press about it while Chris was interviewed by every tom, dick and harry on the red carpet and made the rounds on the talk shows. But that is understandable given where both actors are in their careers at this point.

    im excited :)

Boo, the previews were taken down except for the Soul Sister number and the interview.

Kirsten, that bugs me too. THe entire show revolves around Kurt now and I think it has lost a lot of its original charm between that and the various tribute shows that have no story line whatsoever.

    I completely agree!

I know they focused quite a bit on Rachel and Will last year but at least they were in different capacities each week this is like the same freakin story that just keeps dragging on. It’s great if you’re into it but what made me love Glee last year was the way they mixed stuff up, now it’s kind of losing it’s charm for me.

I don’t know what show you two were watching last year, but the common complaints amongst fans was that Glee focused way too much on Finn and Rachel (as well as Will’s psycho wife) and not enough on the rest of the Glee club membership.

Also, it’s a complete myth that this season “revolves around Kurt now”. Kurt gets 3 episodes (out of 8 ) where he has a prominent storyline and it’s suddenly “all about Kurt”? In “Never Been Kissed”, he was featured in about 11 minutes of the episode’s 42.5 minute run time (including nearly 3 minutes devoted to the Warblers singing Teenage Dream). The rest of the episode was devoted to the Puck/Artie and Beiste storylines.

If you were to say the Glee writing is terribly inconsistent and Kurt’s character has received perhaps the best-written storyline, then I would agree. But all the other characters, except for Mercedes, have gotten significant screen time this season, including Brittany, Santana, Mike and new kid Sam.
