Here is the FULL LIST 0f 10 songs CONFIRMED to be performed on the upcoming Glee Michael Jackson tribute.

I’m pulling the list into its own post because there was a BOGUS spoiler list making its way around the internet over the hols. It entered the news cycle via Perez Hilton and several major news sites posted it.  I decided to wait ’cause the source of the list was  was super-sketchy.

This is the real deal.  Ten songs will be performed in an episode that will run slightly over an hour on January 31st.  These spoilers come courtesy of TV Guide and @KecksExclusives.  William Keck was on set to watch the cast perform some of the numbers.  Glee will be the TV Guide cover story next week.

  • “Rock with You” – Sebastian (Grant Gust) and the Warblers (According to Kevin McHale, “Rock With You” was originally in the script, but it wasn’t cleared.  The Warblers sing a Jackson 5 song instead, according to TVLine.
  • “Scream” (originally an MJ/Janet duet ) – Mike (Harry Shrum Jr) and Artie (Kevin McHale) duet
  • “Ben” – Kurt (Chris Colfer) with Rachel (Lea Michele) and Finn (Cory Monteith) (Kurt sings it to Blaine) (Yes. It’s a love song to a rat)
  •  “Human Nature/Nature Boy”  (Michael/Nat King Cole mashup) – Sam (Chord Overstreet)  and Mercedes (Amber Riley) duet
  • “Black or White” feat Mercedes (Amber Riley), Santana (Naya Rivera),  Rachel (Lea Michele), Artie (Kevin McHale)  and Kurt (Chris Colfer). The entire  group participate in face morphing,  in a homage to the music video.
  • “Wanna Be Starting Something” – Blaine (Darren Criss) (I’m a vegetable!)
  • “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” – Rachel (Lea Michele) and Finn (Cory Monteith) love duet
  • “Smooth Criminal” – Santana (Naya Rivera)  and Sebastian (Grant Gustin) (Evil Gay Warbler!) accompanied by two dueling cellos!
  • “Bad” – Warblers and New Directions – Artie (Kevin McHale), Santana (Naya Rivera), Blaine (Darren Criss), Sebastian (Grant Gustin).  This is basically the BATTLE between the two groups.
  • “Never Can Say Goodbye” – Quinn (Dianna Agron). Quinn sings to somebody she loves. (We have audio of this one!)

Glee tribute episodes are usually thin on plot, but according to FOX, New Directions will battle the Dalton Warblers and their devious new leader (the Evil Gay Warbler, Sebastian!)  for the right to perform a Michael Jackson song at Regionals.  Plus, Rachel struggles with a weighty decision.

I will never understand why people continue to believe anything that Perez posts.

“Bad” – Warblers and New Directions – Blaine (Darren Criss) is featured. This is basically the BATTLE between the two groups.

I am really looking forward to this tribute song.  I am also curious how much dancing will be in this number?  Does having girls in New Directions make it a stronger or weaker group?

At least “Scream” is not something we hear covered a lot but I am tired of the over licensing of Michael Jackson.

I think the morphing of faces in Black or White could be a good laugh and I look forward to see who morphs into who.

What’s with the Warblers getting so many songs? I know people liked them when Blaine was there but I thought we wouldn’t see much of them since Blaine left.

Thanks MJ. You are always reliable. I can’t wait for this episode. I can’t wait to hear/see all the numbers especially Ben. :)

Is there a rule that states that two competing show choirs cannot cover the same artist? Hence the Warblers and New Directions having a contest to decide who gets to do Michael songs. Last year Brad Falchuck said his dream for a tribute episode was Bruce Springsteen. That’s who I thought the tribute episode would be. But apparently Bruce won’t clear his songs. With both American Idol and X Factor already doing Michael weeks, I’m feeling underwhelmed. Great songs, but not the jolt I was hoping for.

I am biased because I like MJ but I do agree that we have already seen much MJ lately on Glee… Looking forward to Ben, Black and White, Bad… but especially Scream !! am not a Kevin McHale fan but I love to see/hear him sing MJ songs…
