Newbie, Jake Puckerman (Jacob Artist) sings a gorgeous cover of The Fray’s “Never Say Never.”

LOL. I hated that cover. It’s almost like he doesn’t speak English and was singing the song phonetically. He’s got a nice voice, but he has to use some inflection/emotion into the song.

Ugh. Not a great set of song. “Call Me Maybe” doesn’t work, Mellisa doesn’t have enough colour and depth in her voice to challenge the amazing Adele, Rachel oversings and Kate is trying to hard.

The only one I would listen to again is the Dragon song (I’m not a fan of Darren, but he does know how to interpret a song and has a very warm tone – and the song is good).

4 out of 6 songs by newbies! Darren remains my fav. Loved loved It’s Time. However, not even Darren singing on Call Me Maybe can make me stand that  song. lol! And I miss Mercedes’s big belts. Whoever singing the background just can’t match Amber’s wails. Jacob has a very nice tone. I love the falsetto too. I wonder if he can replace the rock singer in Puck. Chasing Pavement was boring. She did better in New York State of mind.

Wow Jacob has a great voice!! Was not expecting that. Love it.

And NYSOM lives up to it’s billing Lea sounds amazing and Melissa does well too, but compared to Lea Michele falls a little short.

Marley is being cast as Rachel’s replacement, but her voice is very average. I agree with Kirsten, her vocals lack charisma and that extra “something” great singers like Adele have.

We’ll see how the songs go in context with the story.
