This week, the highly anticipated Glee “The Break Up” episode airs. All of the core Glee couples, including Rachel/Finn, Kurt/Blaine, Brittany/Santana and Emma/Will examine their relationships. Some couples don’t survive the process.

The songs from “The Break Up” are out, and you guys are in for a real treat. There’s a lot of acoustic goodness, here. Those who have seen Darren Criss live, or his performances on You Tube will recognize the acoustic version of what’s become the Klaine anthem. It’s cool that Darren got to sing his own arrangement of the song on the show! It’s also really heartbreaking, because previews reveal Blaine sings the emotional version to Kurt (Chris Colfer) while on the verge of (maybe…probably) breaking up with him.

Naya Rivera sings a gorgeous, acoustic version of Taylor Swift’s “Mine”. I may have actually heard this song for real for the first time. The Lea Michele/Dean Geyer piano duet of “Give Your Heart a Break” is also lovely. These tunes are definitely bound for my iPod.

“Don’t Speak” has never been a favorite song of mine, but it does the job, evoking a sense of heartbreak as the Rachel/Finn, Blaine/Kurt relationships seem to crumble. Darren Criss and Cory Monteith indulge in a little bro bonding as they lament their relationship troubles in “Barely Breathing.”  And, “The Scientist” brings all the couples together for one last cry.

Listen below. What do you think?

WOW! The Scientist just blew me away….it’s amazing how you can look at songs differently and glee always has a great way of making songs sung in many different ways…

Gosh, I love all the tunes for this week. Darren’s Teenage Dream is so so beautiful. All of these tunes are also going into my ipod. I’m a little afraid to watch this episode cause it’s already a heart break to listen to the songs.

Teenage Dream is perfect. I’m in tears.

Barely Breathing was one of my favorite songs in the 90′s so I’m glad it is getting some love along with Don’t Speak. I was a huge No Doubt fan. Now if they would cover some Bush songs as well.

Only heard 3 tunes: disapointed in “Don’t speak”… Then again, I like “The Scientist” and of course, Darren Criss was perfect in “Teenage Dream”….   :-(

And I wont be surprised if there is a twist and a cliffhanger that will eat at our hearts during the 4 week’s hiatus…

I still remember at the Season 3 finale, I thought Rachel/Finn will be hiatus..,  the twist was that Kurt became the cliffhanger..

The Scientist is one of the best things Glee has ever done. Flawless. Chills. All of the music this week is fantastic. This is what happens when they cut back on all the overproduction and just let this amazing cast sing.

I’ve never had a week where I’ve loved every song… all of these are great.

I agree. I’m impressed with every song this week. Good job, Glee.

I am not going to make it through the episode having Darren sing that arrangement of Teenage Dream. I have heard it live and it means so much to him, but then to hear Blaine sing it to Kurt…..OMG

Even the audio makes me shed tears; I’m not sure my heart can take watching the Klaine “teenage dream”.

Don’t Speak is THE BREAKUP song off all times; wished they toned down the music for a better effect.

The Break-up episode is the 4th episode of the 4th Season and will be on air in local time on the 4th of October…  If I am not mistaken in Chinese belief, “4″ is an unlucky number because it can mean “death”…
