Glee – Rocky Horror – Full ‘Time Warp’ Video!

Check out a full performance of the “Time Warp” from next week’s Glee Rocky Horror Picture Show Halloween special. The episode was directed by SYTYCD judge, Adam Shankman.

Finn and Rachel are Brad and Janet and Kurt is Riff Raff, Quinn and Santana play Magenta, Tina and Brittany are Columbia, Sam is the monster, and, oddly, Mercedes is Dr. Frank N. Furter. Hm.

    Maybe there are some things that GLEE should just leave alone. I appreciate a lot of what they do, but this is what I imagine “Up with People” would have done with Time Warp.

    I knew they would make it into MOR pop but did they have to take out the party, change the TW dance and drain all the energy out of it.

    The only good thing about this is that maybe a few people will watch the original movie who never saw it before.

    Are they doing “Sweet Transvestite”? After seeing this I hope not!

    Meh.

    Watched the real movie again this weekend. There is NO excitement in the Glee versions. I suspect it would be much better had I not seen the original.

    Quinns’ Magenta is more Brittney Spears than Dietrich which is VERY disappointing. Plus it looked like there was another Magenta running around there.

    WTF were they thinking about Ambers character??? What was that supposed to be. She looked like Tyler Perry in a green dress.

    I was really excited about this episode but after seeing that i’m really disappointed.

    Wrong characters singing, and the sucked the life out of it. It means nothing the way they performed it.

    And Brad and Janet singing??? Um…no. The didn’t sing this song, this was their introduction to the house, and they were freaked out, not excitedly participating. Why didn’t Kurt sing the whole thing?

    This is just awful.

    I think it’s sweet that Kurt’s character is so into it. Is it great? No. Is it cheesy? Yes. Can it be compared to the cult classic? Of course not. Is Mercedes as Frank totally ridiculous? Hell yes. But I’ll pop some corn & enjoy it for what it is – high school musical Rocky Horror.

    BAHAHAHA!! Madea! I agree, twas odd. Also, why didn’t they just have the superfluous cast members be partygoers, rather than duplicate Columbias and Magentas? Maybe it fits into the storyline of the episode, but otherwise, it’s plain odd. It’s fun to see them dressed up as the characters, though. Riff Raff, Brad, Rocky and Brittany as Columbia were spot-on.

    Mercedes’ green outfit is the surgical garb worn by Frank later in the movie – apparently, dressing her up in a corset is too much. And, yes, they had characters singing when they should (brad/janet), but this is supposed to be a glee club thing, so everyone is supposed to sing. Like the guy in the wheelchair – he was not in the time warp in the movie either. And there were 2 magenta’s and 2 little nells (tap dancer) – don’t know why. And Rocky should not be in Time Warp either.

    WTH!!?? Thats just not right! What is really sad is Glee will make a killing off the songs that they sucked the life out of! Riff Raff was the best of the bunch.

    Kurt as RIFF RAFF, is Kick ASS…the rest, ok. I have to say the same thing as was said above about turning on a whole new generation of kids to Rocky Horror-Hope they can go out at Midnight with squirtguns, newspapers, and rice in hand to see the original…BTW, if you go to the Rocky Horror Picture Show Fan Site, they do list movie theaters that are still running the show, at least once a month.

    I’m a big Rocky Horror fan. I’ve gone at midnight many a time (with my guy friend dressed in a wig, corset, and fishnets!) and it’s so much fun. But it’s not like the movie was Oscar-worthy. It’s cheesy fun, as is this. I’m excited.

    oh darn, the You Tube is gone. I love Rocky Horror, I’m prepared for them to mess with it. But it’s Glee and I’ll watch anyway.

    I’ve never watched Rocky Horror, but I hate butchering, so I’m incredibly nervous. Political correctness is corrupting the Earth!

    I agree.
    I am not as completely opposed to the episode as some are, but the idea of a female Frank baffles me. It just seems to go against everything that Rocky Horror is.

    Wow… this really sickens me. I’m a die hard RHPS fan, and all I can say is this is garbage. It’s not going to make a whole new generation see it. It’s a cult film that already has this generation watching it. All this is going to do is make a bunch of tweens and gleeks who haven’t seen the original, think they know everything about it. All of a sudden (at least for a week), Rocky Horror is gonna be the talk of the town. Dammit Janet…

    Cheesy fun and Glee, it is what it is. So what if they are not doing a spot-on rendition, they are doing a tribute to the show, it looks like fun anyway. And yes, it is edited for content, this is still FOX not basic cable.

    I worked at a movie theater that used to play this at midnight. I never really understood the movie, but I love Tim Curry!

    Well, I don’t completely hate it. As someone said above does feel like the life is kinda sucked out of it.

    Mercedes as Frank N. Furter is what is just absolutely irking me more than anything. I just can’t.

    Apparently hell has frozen over, because I actually just think Cory as Brad is probably one of the only smart castings. I don’t actually hate his voice like I normally do and it just kinda works. Like I said, hell must have frozen over.
