GLEE: Blaine's (Criss Darren, R) older brother Cooper (guest star Matt Bomer, L) visits in "Big Brother," the Spring Premiere episode of GLEE airing Tuesday, April 10 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. ©2012 Fox Broadcasting Co. Cr: Adam Rose/FOX

The wait is almost over kids. The Glee 7 week hiatus ends next Tuesday, with the spring premiere of “Big Brother”.   Finally, we get a little backstory on Blaine (Darren Criss).

Matt Bomer (White Collar) guest stars as Blaine Anderson’s (Darren Criss) big brother Cooper, who breezes into Lima to soak in the attention a minor acting career has brought him. Namely, he is the star of a cheesy credit rating commercial. Everyone is impressed, including Blaine’s boyfriend Kurt (Chris Colfer).  Even Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) is smitten!

But there’s some bad blood between these brothers, as you’ll see in their duet of the Gotye hit, “Somebody That I Used To Know”.  What could have come between these two siblings to tear them apart? We find out on April 10.

ETA: According to EOnline, the song  happens at the end of the episode, at which point emotions are at “an all time high.”  That’s Kurt at the beginning of the video, urging Blaine to make amends with his brother and Blaine does it the only way he knows how–through song.  The Blaine/Cooper childhood flashback happens during the performance.

The age difference between the two brothers is big and that does not help. Maybe Blaine admires his brother a lot but the feeling is not mutual.
