GLEE: L-R: Mike (Harry Shum Jr.), Mercedes (Amber Riley), Finn (Cory Monteith) and Artie (Kevin McHale) judge the auditions for a new musical in the "The Role You Were Born to Play" episode of GLEE airing Thursday, Nov. 8 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. ©2012 Fox Broadcasting Co. Cr: Adam Rose/FOX

When Glee returns on November 8, the McKinley Glee kids will be auditioning for the school musical, Grease. Dropping in to help will be graduates, Mercedes (Amber Riley) and Mike (Harry Shum Jr.) returning to Lima from Los Angeles and Chicago respectively.

In this preview, Glee Project winner, Blake Jenner–who will be introduced as new student, Ryder Lynn–and Becca Tobin who plays psycho cheerleader, Kitty talk about the challenge of performing a double cartwheel! Also, Melissa Benoist (Marley) and Jacob Artist (Jake) weigh in on performing their first really big musical number.

And how cute is the reunion between Heather Morris (Brittany), Amber and Harry? Aw. Just like old times.

LOL Harry … from “intimate” to “awkward”…

I like the smile of Becca (“Kitty”) and Alex actually looks great when not in drag… Yeah, good to see that Amber is back… any Amber/Alex duet ??

  • lukien

Alex in drag is basically the token black diva. Instead of recruiting a replacement for Amber, just put wig on Alex … great!!!!
Seriously tho, are there really crossdressing kids in any high schools in America? I think Ryan means well by making him/her a role model, but seriously???

It’s great to see Amber and Harry back again. Loved upbeat and dancing numbers. Heard Kurt won’t be in this episode though. :(

If I were a crossdressing teenager, I would remain in the closet until I graduated from highschool…

    Therefore I see Glee like a fantasy series… of “what if’s ” … what if I came out… what could happen… or not…
But Wade is lucky… Kurt has already paved the way for more acceptance of differences in his school. But people may have short memories and Wade may end up as a victim of bullying… besides the slushies…

Kurt still needs time to lick his wounds…. So I don’t mind if he is not in this episode… It will give more time  to get to know the newer generation… Looking forward to Sam Evans and especially Ryder Lynn…

He’s not in episode 7 as well. Didn’t he say he hopes to film another movie in Dec. He might not be around for a few more episodes :( :(. I’m still not crazy about the newbies but I’m slowly warming up to them. I’d love to see more of Sam too. Esp his bromance with Blaine. I’d also like to hear Joe sing a lead. Looking forward to Jessica as well.

yeah, less love triangles, more bromances and girl friendships … lots of drama can happen in that too…
Totally agree with Joe and Jessica….Oh well, to me this can compensate a bit for the lack of Kurt.

Yeah, Kurt is not a lead role anymore, so less time for him  :-(  and my additional comfort is to see Chris Colfer, who plays Kurt, spreading his wings and have success with his movies and books. Cue: rewatching his “Not the boy next door”… so true for Kurt and Chris..

About the cartwheel… I have no experience in cartwheels but I suspect that Becca is using the momentum and the energy collected when Blake Jenner was doing the cartwheel. Any other opinions ?

I can’t wait for the return of Gleer.  I really do enjoy the show and the entertaining performers.

About Blaine’s bromance with Sam Evans.. I love this storyline but as a Kurt fan, got a bit jealous when I read in a spoiler that there might be a duet with those two guys… Blaine is really getting everything that Kurt failed to reach:
    - lead role in West Side Story
    - class president
    - duet with Sam Evans…

But as Ryan Murphy indicated that Blaine may not go to New York, I guess Nyada will be out of the question. And really would love to meet Blaine’s father.

Granted that I attended an art school, but we had plenty of cross-dressers.
