FIRST LISTEN: Kelly Clarkson Duets With Martina McBride On “In The Basement”

Kelly Clarkson and Martina McBride duet picture

Superstar and inaugural Idol champ Kelly Clarkson and country superstar Martina McBride are 2 of the finest voices in music today, and they’ve come together for their 1st studio duet! The song? It’s a fun, sassy cover of the 1966 Etta James duet with Sugar Pie DeSanto, “In The Basement,” and you can listen to it here!

The duet is a track on Martina’s upcoming album, Everlasting, which is a full album of covers of her favorite soulful songs, due out April 8th via her Vinyl Records imprint through Kobalt Music Group and produced by Don Was. Martina spent over 20 years in the major label system, first with RCA Nashville (until 2010) and then with Republic Nashville for 1 album, before going out on her own with her upcoming album.

You can DOWNLOAD the Martina/Kelly duet of “In The Basement” and preorder Martina’s album on Itunes now. Smart move to team the pre-order with the release of the duet with Kelly, isn’t it?

Kelly and Martina previously sang live together when they honored Reba on the CMT Giants show back in 2006 and reprised the performance at the 2011 Country Music Hall Of Fame Medallion Ceremony honoring Reba. Here’s bonus video of the 2006 performance:
