Final American Idol Show in New Hampshire Was Epic

Are there silly string fights at the end of every Idol tour? This is the first time I’ve followed an Idol season from beginning to end. I loved the way they enjoyed themselves so much after the show. Made me just want to hop up there on stage with them. Just wondered if this season was unique in the way the Idols got along so well.

I have had the best time this season, both at the Charlotte concert and vicariously through all of the wonderful folks here. Thanks so much to MJ for all the hard work. Thanks to everyone who has participated. I was mostly a lurker, but I’ve so enjoyed this season. Looking forward to November 24, but I can’t remember why….

Last night was definitely epic, the videos and recaps of the night point to that. I want to thank all of the video providers especially MJ, Suz526, TALC and Mindchgr for all the videos this season. I also want to really thank Rickey for his cellcasts and then Adamcast for the latter part of the tour. I really want to thank Adamcast for the LIVE video from last night for the 1st half finale, Danny’s last song and sets from Adam and Kris and that awesome ending. That was an awesome addition to our final concert listening party thread!

Last night I read several tweets including yours that said Danny NOT Michael threw his jacket into the audience and I believe it was your tweet that said the lady next to you or behind you was wearing Danny’s jacket. I know it is a minor thing but would like to know whose jacket it was?

Thanks MJ. It’s been a wild ride and I will miss them so much. I love how they are such good friends. Matt was so funny when he was looking at Kris sing and enjoyed Anoop and Michael too. The finale was the best, so much fun. I hope they partied hardy after the show. Keep rockin’ Adam and Allison. I don’t think any AI season will top this one.

Glad that the Idol boys were feeling better this last night of the tour, which made them able to give better, more epic performances. And cool to all of those that got to see it.

mj, didn’t seem like the beyotch seated next to you harshed your mellow too much, that’s good because that would have sucked. And hope the fight that erupted in front of you vis-a-vis territory, wasn’t too weird.

And you got to see SYTYCD dancers! That’s so random and cool.

Per Gary J’s recap he said Adam had pre-planned who to throw his stuff too following a powwow at the end of the stage. I just watched your video MJ and I didn’t see Adam talking to any fans and him throwing his items seemed completely spontaneous to me. Was that your impression too?

And a huge thanks to the best Top 10 EVER — Kris, Adam, Danny, Allison, Matt, Anoop, Lil, Scott, Megan and Michael. What a great bunch of people — made me wish that I was actually friends with and/or on tour with them all! I wish ALL of them happiness and success in whatever they end up doing. And of course, I’m eagerly jumping up and down in anticipation of hearing the singles and albums from my 3 favorites (Kradison) in the next few days/weeks.

Let’s hope all the idols on this tour will have successful music careers. I know the odds are against all of them making it, but we can hope. Hard to believe that AI 9 is coming up soon. After this years group, I hope the bar will remain raised for the best top 10 again.

I am probably the only person that was disappointed that:

1) They didn’t wait until the song was finished to start with the silly string (I wanted “the glory note” one last time)
2) There wasn’t a sweet Kradam/Kradison moment during the finale (or at least isn’t in the videos)

I went looking for video of last year’s tour finale in Tulsa and this one shows most of it, including silly string and underwear and Mavid doing their Zoolander underwear bit while covered in silly string. I believe there was other silliness, as well, including Michael Johns wearing a fake pornstache for part of his performance and David Cook doing a cameo during Michael Johns’ set. Or maybe vice versa.

I wish the big group hug at the end had been lit. It’s pretty epic in length, anyway.

I found this fan video, too. It shows the silly string and Cook smashing his guitar and Michael Johns vamping behind Brooke while she sang. And it also shows how very beloved S7 was.

Good luck to all of the Idols! Not all of them will continue to be in the music industry, but they all had their moment in the sun. They won’t forget this summer of fun and (mostly!) love and neither will we!

I can’t even begin to imagine what last night was like for these 10 kids…and for me they will always be kids. Their journeys started over a year ago and they all had to endure some of the greatest highs and lows. I am sure they were so looking forward to last night…the end of an era…and like High School graduation, once you are on that stage you are abruptly made aware that it is the end and nothing will ever be the same.

I had my fav, I “lurved” posting about the ones that irritated me, I ignored those that didn’t make much of an impact but, now that all is said and done, I’ll really miss all of these big and little brats. I’ll miss their shenanigans, their tears, their comaraderie, their good songs and their iffy performances.

I wish them all the best…and collectively I’d like to thank them for making one of the worst years of my life on a personal level, more than bearable and oftentimes, through the joy of cyber space, filled with warmth and happiness. They became my little family that I could escape to when the “real life stuff” became too big to handle.

And, again, thanks MJ and the rest of you for helping an old lady stay reasonably sane. Escapism is all its cracked up to be!

I don’t know if Danny threw his jacket, but one of the videos shows Danny throwing his glasses out to the audience after the show. Danny also confirmed this during Matt’s final bubbletweet and said that he kinda regretted throwing his favorite pair of glasses.

Of course, Anoop said he didn’t throw anything and the guys jokingly called him “selfish” and Adam said that “he lost a fan” (inside joke). It was all very silly and cute.

I love that twitter really made this tour fun!

I love how it looks as though all the tension that was spoken of in the beginning of the tour between Adam and Danny&Michael seem to be non-existent. If anything, they seem to really love him in this video… and I also saw an interview from last week where the interviewer tells Adam that when asked who influenced him the most, Michael said that Adam did. And an interview in which Michael was asked what did he learn on this AI journey- he said to be accepting of different kinds of people (or something like that- I wonder what he was reffering to…).
And so- positive energy really can prevail sometimes, huh?

On a different note: I join all those who praise MJ for her wonderful blog! It might be good for Americans- but it’s simply a MUST for international fans who if it weren’t for this blog, would have to wait three days in order to see the show broadcasted in our countries- so HUGE HUGE thanks!!!!!

Wow, it is over! I feel like it is the day after Christmas. Thank you to all that have posted video, photos and comments. It has been such a treat to see so much covered and I’ve loved it all. Thanks again to all that contributed and to MJ for the great blog. I am an AI fan and really loved S8, especially Adam. I saw the Idols in Kansas City and thought they were great. Still no Allison videos

Am mostly a lurker here, although every once in awhile I will post. I will miss hurrying home on a concert night, logging into my computer and going into MJ’s blog and listening to the underwater cellcast, reading all the comments and fan wars etc. I miss last night’s video cast due to a previous engagement. I don’t know what I was thinking when I made that engagement. Duh!!! Tried to get out of it but couldn’t. Anyway, it took me a long time to read the comments from last nights and it certainly epic.

Thanks MJ for the concert memories. Looking forward to future news about blossoming carreers for S8 finalists.

Just guessing but it may have something to do with

1) last year they turned the lights off of everyone onstage and although they stood there hugging for at least five minutes no one could see except when flashes from the camera went off
2) Megan didn’t let go of Allison long enough for her to hug anyone other than Tim at the very end. But Adam and Kris did hug a few times in the melee. They made a few connections, including the moment in which Kris pretended to throw Adam’s jacket into the audience.

I’d also like to add that, in the beginning of and during the AI season, there was a lot of hatefullness going on but, by the end, love conquered all and that is what made it so special for me.

Thanks for all the coverage, and I loved your summary of your fans at the dinner, plus your season summary. I disagree with some small points, but all in all, I’m in your court. I voted for Adam after the finale, but I knew I would be very happy if Kris won, mainly because I thought he actually performed better that last time. I actually was very pleased with the outcome–Adam was going to be a star no matter what, and a truly “good guy” and good musician, an underrated person, would get a big boost in a career. Agree that I saw Allison, not Danny (though I like his voice), as the “threesome with talent.”

Funny you should say about Anoop’s voice. I enjoy watching all the finale videos on tour because the purity of his voice–plus range–is so very striking.

And I guess I am a Cougar who like all, has ignored her children so I, too, can wander out to the computer between 6-8 a.m. with coffee cup in hand to review the previous night’s videos. My kids–18 and 22, have threatened an intevention.

Could someone please remind me what video to watch for the mic stand falling to the floor. I know WLL – but what city – or specifically what vid do you recommend?

What a fabulous end to my favorite season by far. I can’t imagine Idol ever being the same for me. This is the first time I was inspired enough to attended an Idol concert. It was the first time I spent hours each day combing the web for information. While I’m not all that vocal, I was here at least every morning and evening. I was, am, and no doubt will continue to be awestruck by Adam, I can’t wait to hear what Kris, Allison and Danny come up. I respect and appreciate them all.

Last night was bittersweet. I was sad the season and tour had ended but am so looking forward to albums, tours and beyond.

Wow – Alli going to Sweden – I am 99% sure other than the tour going to Canada, she has never been out of the US. At least she will not be there alone and will have a driver pick them up at the airport and probably drive them to where ever they need to go. She really needed to rest at least for 24 hrs. and not be taken to another country! That’s show BIZ – her CD is top priority and fun and rest will have to take a back seat – same goes I am sure for Adam and Kris beginning right after the Ford Detroit shin dig.

A huge thanks to MJ and all that she has provided by way of her awesome web site. This year was a first for me and I have loved every minute of it. Big Adam fan but enjoyed all the recaps and read every one of them. Some made you feel like you were there. I’m just waiting for Adam’s solo tour! Will miss checking this out and watching the great videos although I know I will continue to watch what has already been posted. I don’t know if I will do this again – ever – but we’ll see what AI9 brings. I doubt that there will ever be another Adam though. This: And now I’m crying. Damn. I really tried not to, but the sentiments here just keep pouring in. All these people, dredged up from their quiet complacency about music by Adam, brought together on this site because we were looking for information and found some sane people to share with when we felt slightly crazy. And then, many of us realized how cool the rest of this group of performers were this year!! How awesome to revel in someone’s dreams coming true and to watch diversity bring people together.

This is so strange. I just looked at the video of DSB and you are right, it was Michael’s jacket that the woman caught, but I saw Danny throw it and I saw the woman catch it and heard the little girls’ screams. You can hear them in the video. Still is is Michael’s jacket. Even if she thinks she caught Danny’s. Danny did throw his glasses, but I think he just tossed them gently. I think Adam knew who he was throwing his stuff to because he warned somebody that the first necklace was heavy. I thought he recognized fans sitting in the front middle section (center past the third row) and aimed stuff in their direction. The Glambert hat he wore came from a woman in the second row, but I didn’t see him throw anything to her. He also apologized to someone for tossing a bouquet they had given him back into the crowd.

I gotta say that I can be categorized as a lurker of this blog since day #1 of the Idols tour when I chanced upon it much to my delight! As I live in Asia, I was not able to attend the concert but with this wonderful blog, I was able to come back and check out the latest updates everyday! It sure has been like a roller coaster ride throughout this incredible tour as they were some anxious moments with endles speculation on Adam being stalked (yikes!) to being sick (double yikes!) to the countless “Adam_gates” on each concert nights! I also happen to be one of the casual AI fans who got absolutely hooked on Season 8 after having seen Adam performing “Black or White”.

I would like to thank MJ for providing this fantastic blog for Idol fans to gather (and especially fellow Adam fantards!) and all the regular posters on this blog for Season 8 AI tour as I could surely count on your guys for my “daily fix” lol! What a ride it has been!

Did MJ piss off tptb again (like when she lost her photobucket acct) – her Youtube account just got suspended.

I thought it was a thorough sweep by YT of all videos, but the TALC vids are still up….
