Fifth Harmony, the manufactured girl group from X Factor 2, are busy preparing for their debut album. In the meantime, check out their cover of Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin’ Bout You.”

After tweeting a link to the video, former X Factor judge, LA Reid tweeted, “Are those actual harmonies I’m hearing? I think so!”

Yes, LA. Those ARE actual harmonies…

    I really enjoyed that.

This was really good! Putting out covers is a smart move to keep them out there.

This is great.  I think that “Anything Could Happen”, proved that with the right songs, these girls could really succeed.  They’re all talented.  In fact, I think that for the most part, all of them could sing better individually than any of the other females on the show besides Carly.  They’re young, they’re pretty, they’re talented.  Hopefully, they make good decisions musically.

I wish that they actually would harmonize like that during the show instead of having hidden backup singers doing the harmonies for them.

That was awesome! I can’t wait to hear new material from Fifth Harmony.

Heh. He knew damn well that they couldn’t harmonize on the show – and their name was a sham. Looks like they are starting to learn how to do harmonies now, finally. Not very much, and not very tough harmonies, just two places in the song, repeated – but it’s a start over using back up singers – and if they keep working at it – it would make their name true.

Before, they were taking a page from Cowell’s playbook, and selling the Sizzle, not the Steak. IMO. Good luck to them.

this is good. i think they need more dynamic and chemistry between them.

This was beautiful. Dinah is a star her voice was phenomenal. And I really loved the girl in the black zippered Jacket voice. Does anyone know her name? I think it’s either Lauren or Ally.

Finally the girl in the red sweater I believe that is Camilla her voice didn’t annoy me like it did during X-Factor. On X-Factor she had this weird quality to her voice it would be shrill/squeaky child-like tone to it. It’s hard to explain, I just didn’t like it and couldn’t understand why people would showcase her as opposed to the others. If she just continued to sing this way for the rest of her songs she’d be fine. I can tolerate the way she sounds here.

    I love this!
I really hope Simon does right by Fifth Harmony. These girls could be his female One Direction if Simon devotes his everything to them and picks the right songs for their album. These girls have loads of talent. I’m crossing my  fingers!

nice… but I can’t see them releasing anything like that… they will be pushed down the power pop route… i expect their 1st single will be something like the new Demi song

Fifth Harmony are better vocalists than One Direction I mean it’s like no contest. But what they do have that Fifth Harmony doesn’t have is they’re characters and have loads of personality. What Fifth Harmony needs is to get some personality into their performances. They need to get dynamic w/ their vocals as well. On and off the stage they were so boring.

Off the stage they were boring? Have you seen their interviews? They relate to the teens so much then previous girl groups i’ve seen lately. Much more then Little Mix/The Saturdays

Heres a fan montage video of some of their interviews thrown together showing their personalities. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TBAKnRklzY

I believe this will become the most successful act from XFUS. They have a rapid growing fanbase.

Wally You were totally right I hadn’t seen any of their interviews outside of X- Factor. My opinion of them possessing no personality totally changed after seeing that montage. They seemed like fun cool girls. The clips they showed on X-Factor were boring so boring I don’t even really remember them. I think it was just them liking to cook and constantly saying they were bonding. It was just really dull.

If they could put the energy and coolness of that montage into their performances they’re gold. Voices plus personality is a rare combination. And if they get good music/songs paired w/ good promotion they will be successful, it’s a slam dunk.

I’d say Little Mix who’ve I’ve been following relate more though to young girls. I say that simply b/c Little Mix’s personalities were more evident during their X-Factor journey. In their performances Little Mix were more diverse than Fifth Harmony b/c they did up-tempo, ballads, and danced around as opposed to simply standing there and singing. Also Little Mix’s behind the scene video clips showed they were fun, funny, caring, and determined girls. I didn’t get that from Fifth Harmony but then again the girls from Little Mix are a tad older than Fifth Harmony so it could of been easier for them express theirselves. I feel the more Fifth Harmony stick together the the more comfortable they’ll be on stage.

I wish i’d seen more of Fifth Harmony’s personalities on X- Factor I would of liked them more also they’d of had more fans. For some reason I can’t help but think Simon is somehow to blame. LOL. I mean he messed up Lyric 145, which i’m still ticked off about, so he probably infected Fifth Harmony as well.
