Michael Sarver – American Idol Season 8 Top 36 Contestant

Ohhh, I totally love this guy. He has a great soothing voice. Can’t wait to see what he does once the competition starts!

Looks like the boys really had to fight tooth and nails to make it to top 12. Lots of good ot at least decent singers compare to the girls.

I have a lot of early favorites this year (which is really unusual for me) and Michael is one of them. I hope get advances far into the competition so I get to hear lots more of him.

I’m liking him more and more each time I see him.

country-like vocals, but sings boy band songs. he’s all right though.

A FAVORITE of mine. Like his looks, love his talent, has the IT factor that is so important. Has that honest, everyman attitude. Calm, cool, and collected. Isn’t a “drama” queen (oops…lets say KING since Michael is ALL man).

Hope he goes far and renews my faith in the AI audience.

I like Michael a lot too. And, I’m fond of the other big guy (Matt) as well. I guess I too prefer the big manly men to the theater geeks LOL.

Sarver’s ok but I really like Danny Gokey better. (Looks like Robert Downey, Jr.) I have been an Idol fan since early season one and am looking forward to enjoying another season of voting starting next week.

A manly man is pretty much the opposite of a metrosexual. Not high maintenance or afraid to get his hands dirty and wipe them on his pants to clean up. I guess that’s how my little brain sees it.

LOL – that’s a good explanation. I would just have to add – that he also should not remind me of Liza Minelli.

Hmm, he doesn’t remind me of Josh Gracin at all. Maybe I’m missing the common link there. Plus, I think he’s a whole lot better.

He needs to switch to country music pronto. If he tries to present himself as an r&b crooner it won’t work. It just doesn’t fit his background or his look (or his voice).

Agree with Niall here. If Michael choose to sing country song and do it good, he will be a lock into top 12. Cause contestant who choose this genre in previous season, most of them (or all of them???) make it into top 12 and make it quite far in the competition.

From Josh, Carrie, Kellie P, Bucky, Phil and Kristy, at least they reach top 8.

Good voice, likable. Seems like he has a good shot at top 12, depending on what happens with Brent Smith.

I am on the fence about his cracking top 12. Good voice, but I am not seeing a good performer.

Not seeing the appeal in this guy. Mediocre singer, not much charisma, doughy.

He does have a chance to claim the male “country” slot, I guess, but there are many much much better singers than him in this competition.

I want to like this guy because I have a fondness for blue collar dudes who don’t wear headbands or wear guyliner. I hope his fondness for Boyz 2 Men is not indicative of his real musical tastes. I want more roughness from the roughneck.

Now see, Michael could lose out because I believe Danny and Anoop will be in the TOP 3 (with a female voted in). In actuality, he may get more votes than she does. I want to see Michael in the TOP 12 which may mean a Wild Card choice.

I do not like this TOP 36 format for this reason alone. When Michael sang for the sing-off, I was mesmerized. From what we have seen, I really like this man! I think the manly man has flowed over to family man. I am feeling the same vibes I felt about Phil Stacey. (Phil’s voice was more versatile.) Yes, I did vote for Phil.
