We didn’t see Nate until the Hollywood group round, where he mixed it up with group mates Nancy Wilson and Kristen McNamara.     He’s like a queenier, more dramatic Jack McFarland (I didn’t even think that was possible). He’s great tv but I can’t see him making the Top 12.

    Drama Queen aside, i really liked his first hollywood round audition vocals. No pushing, he took his time, loved his tone, and felt what he was singing. He needs to loose that headband thing and just sing because i think he vocals/tone are Top 12 worthy. But do i think he will tone it down? No. Shame.

    Duke, I really liked Nate’s audition in Hollywood as well. I really liked the song that he sung and I think that he did a good job singing it. I also liked the version of “Bleeding Love” that he did. I think that he has a pretty voice.

    I think that he could do pretty decently if he would just stop being so dramatic. I hope that he does tone down the dramatics because if he does, he could end up doing at least pretty okay in this competition. I think that he is top 12 worthy as well.

    He has a nice voice but is just too much in the drama dept. I don’t think he’ll last too long because I don’t see him toning it down.

    Let me just say, I am not going to like the piling on that the judges will do when he sings in his group. Oh yes, it is going to be mean and ugly. But, oh yes, I will be watching….hangs head…

    I expect the pimping of the contestants will be at all time high this year — even worst than last year — because the “chosen ones” must make it through being voted in. It’s one chance, versus 2 or three.

    Vocally he definitely wasn’t a stand out and his dramatics last week sealed it for me………..no thank you.

    They absolutely didn’t show his initial audition. I would have remembered those purple pants.

    Vocally, he’s alright, nothing special.

    If he made Top 12, I wouldn’t be able to take it.

    I question whether or not there will be a lot of “pimping” during the top 36 round. Since each judge gets to choose a wild card, their favorites will make it no matter what.

    I really can’t be bothered with this guy.
    I always thought that AI had something to do with vocal ability.
    I guess I was wrong.
    This year, it appears I am more wrong than ever.

    I definitely believe the pimping will be very blatant during the initial voting rounds. They only have 3 wildcard spots to hand out, and considering the top guy and top girl both get through even if the top girl, for example, comes in 6th overall in the voting, there is a lot of room for good people to fall through the cracks. Although I’m sure they’ll stack the groups to try and minimize the damage and get through to Top 12 as many of the people they want as possible.

    Poor Nate though, I believe, is fodder. Nice voice, but way over-the-top, and definitely too over-the-top for a lot of voters, I would guess. Plus the competition on the guys side is pretty fierce (no pun intended) as there are a lot of them who seem very talented and deserving of a Top 12 spot.

    Ugh this guy is horrible and beyond annoying. Cannot believe he makes Top 36.

    Take it from someone who knows him…sorta… (Me) His antics are who he is, he’s not gonna calm them down… and it is a shame, because he can sing… He was never my favorite singer, but someone who can sing from Malone is a big thing, even if he isn’t top 12 material.
