Matt’s a working guyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’a welderà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’with a family, who has always had a dream to sing. Definitely NOT a plant. His wife encouraged him to try out–reminiscent of Chris Daughtry’s audition.   In fact, it’s Daughtry playing in the background during his audition.

Dudeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s got a decent voice, kinda gruff and soulful, but he’ll have to do much more to stand out from the pack.

    He seems to be in the same vein as Matt Rogers and Sundance Head. I don’t think he’ll advance to the Top 12.

    I hope he does well, he has a nice voice and for me he’s what Idol should be about.

    This guy had fodder written all over him and I’m sorry but he looks a little too ordinary to make it.

    Ordinary or not, Matt actually got a decent camera time, since audition and then Hollywood weeks. If he choose the right song and perfomed well with not too many tough competitors (aka the pimped ones) in his group, he had chance to make it in the top 12.

    If in top 36 sing off, producer show off segment about him and his family, his chance will be much bigger to make it to the top 12. AI fans just love contestant who was decent loving married man who pursued his dream.

    This guy — all depends on who is in his group. At this point, I couldn’t say for sure who’s going to be in the top 12 other than Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey (barring a disastrous performance…and even then…) Won’t really be able to tell who TPTB want us to vote for until we see how everyone is grouped.

    I hate the “voting in” approach for the contestants sake, but it really does make it a more interesting and competitive tv experience to get into the top 12.

    Nice guy. He’s likeable enough. His voice is good. But, truthfully, I can’t recall much about him. Unless he really pulls out all the stops for the Top 36, I don’t think he’ll make Top 12 unless the judges/producers really want him there.

    I don’t think he’s fodder, but I doubt he’ll go far. With people like Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey, he’ll be lucky if he makes top 12. I like them though, he’s seems like a nice guy.
