According to Jawn Murray of Blackvoices.com, Season 3 winner, Fantasia will be hitting the road this summer in the touring company of The Color Purple.

Despite being dogged in the press for the amount of absences she had during her Broadway run in ‘The Color Purple,’ BV Buzz has has learned exclusively that season three ‘American Idol’ winner Fantasia will return to the Oprah Winfrey-produced musical.

Beginning this summer, Fantasia will resume her role as Celie and embark on a three month run with the show, kicking off at The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC on June 30. She will also play dates with ‘The Color Purple’ when the show travels to Chicago and Atlanta as well.

If this show comes to your town go see it. I saw Fantasia on Broadway, and she was fabulous.

Now, in the this-story-is-probably-total-crap-but-wouldn’t-it-be cool-if-it-were-true department:

You may recall that due to defaulting on a loan, Fantasia’s house was scheduled to be auctioned off, but was taken off just days before the scheduled date.

Now, the National Enquirer is reporting that Simon Cowell paid off Fantasia’s loans, keeping her house from going into foreclosure.

You know, it really wouldn’t surprise me if Simon had done that. He has often said that Fantasia is his favorite of the Idols – as a person, not just as a singer. He might very well have bailed her out and given her a chance to make good on it. I think he’s much more of a softie than he wants people to believe.

I think heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s much more of a softie than he wants people to believe.

I saw Simon on TV a while back (I believe it was the Oprah show), where a family had a child that was ill and they had paid so much money for medical expenses, that they could not pay on the mortgage anymore. Simon told the family that he was going to pay off the entire house for them. So yeah, I would believe that with Fantasia. I think he is a softie also….after all, he loves animals…especially dogs.

I don’t know. Sometimes, National Enquirer contains hints of the truth. Could be….

I hope it isn’t true. Fantasia won’t learn if people keep bailing her out. On the other hand, if Fantasia REALLY wants to hit the jackpot she could become Simon’s baby mama. We all know how he likes to roll.

I love Fanny but I hope that nobody bailed her out, but that she did it on her own.

I would not rule out Simon lending her a hand, he has said some really great stuff about her as a person over the years. He is a softie, but I hope it was some other kind of help that he gave, maybe better terms or something.

Didn’t I predict this a few messages ago? GF needs some serious $$$ and this is all she’s got going for her right now. She doesn’t have a song / album on the charts and she’s not on tour. She needs serious management.
I always thought she would do well fronting a band ala Sharon Jones & the dap band.

As for Simon, yep, I can believe it. But he should also bail out the other Idol’s foreclosures while he’s at it :) :)

That was my first thought when I read it. She’ll never grow up and make good decisions because every step of the way she has somebody who feels sorry for her and fixes it.
