Fantasia – “Lose to Win” – First Listen! (AUDIO)

Those of you waiting for new music from American Idol season 3 winner, Fantasia Barrino, listen up! The Grammy award winner has released her first new single since 2010.

The upbeat R&B tune, “Lose to Win”, was released to radio today and will be available on iTunes January 8. Fantasia’s scratchy rasp is perfect on the catchy song. Kinda has a retro 90s thing going on, doesn’t it?

Check out a first listen below. Her fourth studio album is expected to be released early next year.

Sometimes retreading beats work for me. This time it just made me want to listen to “Nightshift” by The Commodores.

  • Li Wright

Not feeling it….but maybe it will grow on me.

  • Dennis

I really like the song, it’s upbeat and fun and I’m glad it’s not a sappy ballad.

  • No Thanks

That was my first thought.  “This is “Nightshift”!!”

  • Sassycatz

I like the cover art. Looks like something from the sixties. The song’s okay. It’s kind of forgettable, though.

  • Garrett Clayman

I never liked Fantasia, until I heard “Back to Me” which was genius, I seriously think there are four or five songs not released as singles on BTM that are better than this, but this is not bad, props gurl

Nightshift. That’s the first song that popped into my head.  The fact that this song rips off that one makes me dislike it even more.

  • arkboy

Most unlikable winner ever, by a long shot.

  • songsungblue

I disagree.  I love Fantasia, partly because she isn’t some created marketing scheme inside a ‘person’ outfit.  She’s a person, with flaws.  And all she owes me is her talent.  JMHO.

  • Cory ??

Fantasia will always be the most deserving Idol winner ever in my opinion. I cried when she won, not afraid to admit that. LOL

  • Li Wright

When she records she’s restrained and I can stand her, but it’s when I see her live that she acts like a crazy woman and has no restraint when she sings and performs, bordering on screaming.

i think its hot and she is the best american idol winner ever people just really havent heard how talented she really is
