She decided to take on the pop music side to see if it could get her further along in her career. She is extremly talented and she is one of the nicest girls I know. She has a wonderful quirky personality and has worked really hard. I hope she makes it really far with american idol this season. She has my vote! Jason has PLENTY of exposure pre-AI. Mybe not signing exposure, but he was on MTV in Cheyenne.

His band sounds amazing, and I'm tempted to by both of his band's CDs now before they get ripped off the market. This is supposed to be a singing competition. If they have to do an original song and have it judged as part of their performance, that definitely shifts the focus off of just singing. You don't have to be a songwriter to be able to sing and interpret a song well. To me, if it was part of the contest, it would definitely change the focus of the contest. Watching AI Rewind, it is possible for them to have themes that are not overly specific and restrictive. Although it is great if someone can also write a good song for their career after the show, I'm not sure it should be included in the judging.
