Wow, they’re coming in fast and furious.   King Julien from Idol Forums (you need to be a member to see) has found more potential Hollywood Week contestants, and you can find those after the jump.

In the meantime, Joesplace has taken all the rest of the spoilers found so far, and compiled them into a handy-dandy post over at Vote For the Worst. Check it out HERE. She’s also got her own blog HERE.

Some notables from the lists:

Kristen McNamara:   Super planty! She was a previous Star Search and  Nashville Star contestant. ( Her music ? Not very country, although she does yodel)   She boasts a 4 octave range and has been a regular National Anthem singer at 49er games. Her bio says she’s working/writing with Chris Trevett, (Backstreet Boys, N’Sync, Britney Spears, Aaron Carter) finishing and indie record. Her Nashville Star Star profile says she’s opened for Lonestar, Collin Raye, Diamond Rio, Montgomery Gentry, Kenny Chesney, Kevin Sharp, Travis Tritt and Glen Campbell. Recording with John Stewart – Video.

Natasha Valentin – According to IDF and VFTW, she was a contestant on Nashville Star. Her Videos and MySpace

Stephanie Britt – If this girl is the same Stephanie Britt, she’ll fit right in next to the Utah folk. Lolz.

Allison Iraheta – She’s got her own fansite, if that means anything.   She won the “Celebrate Life with Hope” award from Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, and sang at the benefit with Babyface. She won a Telemundo reality show called Quinceaà ±era in 2006.

Ashley Anderson -She’s another singer/songwriter type. She’s really good! My Space

Phoebe Holiday – Yet another singer/songwriter

Kendall Beard – And yet another singer/songwriter. Am I detecting a trend?

Sharon Wilbur – Christian singer/songwriter

Julissa Veloz – She worked with Gerry Williams, who produced Justin Timberlake and Celine Dion. She’s a model and did a test shoot for Abercrombie and Fitch

Ryan P.A. Johnson – He won the Fox19 AI contest.   His Christian Rock band is on tour right now.

Lots of singer/songwriters? Hmmmmm…. Does that mean they will actually let people single an original song this year? Interesting.

I hope for her own sake Kirsten McNamara doesn’t make it past Hollywood. She will get the Carly treatment in idol-blogville, for sure.

Stephanie Britt – Check out her website.

    Oh, my. :blush_tb:

    Am I detecting a trend?

    I hope so.

  • leome

    Stephanie Britt FTW!

And Brooke should have tried one year later…

  • terps

Stephanie Britt… well um well.. I don’t know what to say. I thought the playboy idol tryouts were a while a go. I wonder if she brought Heff to her tryout. I see this years idol scandel already breweing!!

Stephanie Britt – Check out her website. Alrighty then! If this is the same Stephanie Britt, sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll fit right in next to the Utah folk. Lolz.

My work filtered this site as “sex” and wouldn’t let me view it. Must be bad!

  • FolkFan

I thought that Nashville Star was supposed to be SecondChanceVille for failed AI contestants, not the reverse.

  • itsalleternal

It is bad pj. If she makes the top 24, then Antonella Barba will seem like Brooke White in terms of media attention. Definitely a scandal waiting to happen.

  • itsalleternal

I thought that Nashville Star was supposed to be SecondChanceVille for failed AI contestants, not the reverse.

It’s gone both ways. In the early seasons as well, the old PopStars series (circa 2000-01, before AI existed) was a common lead point for a number of Idol contestants.

Hopefully, they will get to do some original songs…I would think that would be another way to add more credibility to the show.

And I love Kristen McNamara. I remember her from both Star Search and Nashville Star. She’s really quite good IMO. I am not sure Idol needs another country blonde, but I would like to see her make the Top 10 at least depending on how she performs. Her original song on Nashville Star was really good. She wrote it when she was only 15. I know she came in 6th on that show. I full expect the Carly treatment as this year’s plant, but hopefully people can get over it. Season 7 was full of plants. I never heard too many complaints about Kristy Lee Cook or Michael. Carly took the brunt of it. Ridiculous. Just because these kids aren’t plucked off the farm in the middle of Nowheresville, USA, like Miss Underwood doesn’t mean they should not have a chance.

  • itsalleternal

Fast and furious is right. It seemed at first they were just crawling in and TPTB were doing a good job at keeping everything sealed up, but someone managed to outsmart them…or someone at AI (an intern or something) decided to leak it out…

  • brie200

I don’t think Brooke should have waited a year so much so as this is happening because of Brooke. Jason too, though most of the leaked singer/songwriter names so far are female. More are probably trying out after seeing the success of Brooke and Jason last season and the producers are obviously embracing it after seeing the success of Brooke and Jason last season.

I can’t imagine they’ll let any of them perform their own songs though.

  • IdolFanatic

Really? What past AI contestants ended up on NS? I guess I don’t remember much about that.

I dont even need to hear her sing…STEPHANIE BRITT FOR THE WIN!!!!!!

It’s great to see Kristen McNamara on that list. I’ve met her quite a few times in Nashville. She’s a pretty good singer, and her original songs are amazing. Hopefully she’ll make it to the 24! She’s hysterical!

    tyson.

  • IdolFanatic

I think Kristen can gain quite a fan base beyond the one she already has. She has the look, a great personality, and great vocals reminiscent of LeAnn Rimes. And the fact that she’s also a songwriter will help her in escaping the “generic” label. But I do expect intense hatred and backlash as well if she does make it far due to her past experiences with reality TV singing competitions.

  • IdolFanatic

I also wanted to add that another really good reason for them allow some original songs on the show would be avoiding the dreaded and limited song list from which the contestants have to choose from and also no copyright clearance issues either. It would also give the viewers a true view of who they are as artists. Who can argue with a song they wrote themselves? No comparisons. I mean I understand that they should be challenged and have to find ways to make their style fit into the theme of the week, but I think sometimes it gets pretty ridiculous with how restrictive the themes and song lists can get. Cook, Jason, and Brooke often did well in making the horrible themes suit their style, but it doesn’t mean future contestants should all have to deal with horrible themes week in and week out.

  • http://stores.ebay.com/BookWomanBlues-Book-Nook Bobbi

I’m not sure how I feel about them singing an original song. This is supposed to be a singing competition. If they have to do an original song and have it judged as part of their performance, that definitely shifts the focus off of just singing. You don’t have to be a songwriter to be able to sing and interpret a song well. To me, if it was part of the contest, it would definitely change the focus of the contest.

Watching AI Rewind, it is possible for them to have themes that are not overly specific and restrictive. Although it is great if someone can also write a good song for their career after the show, I’m not sure it should be included in the judging.

  • IdolFanatic

It wouldn’t be any different than getting judged on the song they choose to sing really.

  • cruzceleste

I dont even need to hear her singà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦STEPHANIE BRITT FOR THE WIN!!!!!!

OMG…I guess her will made AI not family friendly anymore….

Wanna bet this is another Cowell strategy to bring more drama to AI??

  • Niall

Random trivia about Kristen MacNamara: She’s Nashville buddies with Diana DeGarmo. I don’t know if she planned to try out for Idol or if Diana encouraged her but at one point she had Diana in her top friends list on MySpace.

  • Duke

    I think I’m in love :wub_tb: stephanie b. :wub_tb:

if shes half as good as Miley or Taylor Swift she’s got my vote

  • Scifisam

After visiting almost all the myspaces and such with music samples, I’m continuing to carry the Ryan PA Johnson flag as my favorite from what I’ve seen so far. His band sounds amazing, and I’m tempted to by both of his band’s CDs now before they get ripped off the market. (hopefully they will, because hopefully he will make the top 24)

Kara should be pretty happy with the contestants there are to choose from on this list. Didn’t she say Brooke was her favorite last year?

  • Grammie Kari

I hope for her own sake Kirsten McNamara doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t make it past Hollywood. She will get the Carly treatment in idol-blogville, for sure.

I may be in the minority, but I prefer contestants with less exposure. I loved Jason Castro from start to now. I don’t think someone like Kristen will get my support. If she makes the tour, I don’t think she will mind the Carly treatment.

I am still hoping for the Folk/Folk Rock/Folk Pop theme. Any hints on mentors for Season 8?

  • colette

They seem to definitely be leaning in the Contemporary Country Star direction. There’s big record sales in that, and since they already had a hiphop lite winnter and a hard rocker in the past two years, they’ll want to shake it up. Just hope this isn’t the bland leading the bland.

checkh out Phoebe…..I’m trying to imagine that whispery, girlish little voice on Queen or Led Zeppelin night…..

  • IdolFanatic

After checking out Kristen’s website, I have to say that I am a bit confused. She was all about country music on her stints on Star Search and of course Nashville Star. And her voice was perfect for it. And although I thought she had some pop leanings, I never thought of her as a straight pop singer. And according to her bio and music samples, it sounds like she’s going more the pop route now. Hmmm…

  • milajoy

Jason has PLENTY of exposure pre-AI. Mybe not signing exposure, but he was on MTV in Cheyenne.

  • valeries2cents

Kristen has worked really hard in the music industry, her love and passion is with country music, however as great as her musical talent is, she wasn’t getting the big break she deserved, probably due to the fact there are already a ton of blonde country music artists taking that space. She decided to take on the pop music side to see if it could get her further along in her career. She is extremly talented and she is one of the nicest girls I know. She has a wonderful quirky personality and has worked really hard. I hope she makes it really far with american idol this season. She has my vote!
