I loved your re-cap and enjoyed your two show perspective. Very cool. I would've loved to travel around and see more than one show. Not possible in my current role as mother of teenagers and sole owner of my business.

Kanga - I loved the story about your grandmother. That's just awesome.

And this:

"Adam is the first time I felt someone on Idol shared my background and perspective, and he's also an amazing singer and performer. I wouldn't have watched for anything less.

I agree 100%. The alternative, progressive, avant garde of this country finally got their own Idol. Gotta love that Adam.

Yeah, same here. Being that I am from the same area as Adam, reading some of his interviews remind me of some my past party days as well, except he did it well after I did (even though I am only a year older than him).

Thanks for the review! Hearing good things about Megan now wishes I could have seen her later on during the tour as I was really disappointed with her set in LA, which was a shame as she was my original favorite (and now second to Adam). It's good that she has improved though.

@Kanga22, your story just warmed my heart. That is the most adorable thing I've heard today.

Erin, I loved your recap '“ and you really did have some great points about how the AI and the pop music demographic diverge. Very good point. Your family sounds awesome and I love hearing the generational perspective, especially from people who are very discriminating with their music choices.

Have a great time in Reading!!

I really enjoyed your review and how cool that you have the perspective of having gone to the very first show and now this one midway through. Very interesting.

And sounds like we share a lot of tastes and experiences, so was especially interested to read of your impressions. Wow that your family also enjoys Adam and sees so much potential with him. I remain skeptical to the nth degree, but that's how I roll. But hey, that's just me.

Anyhew, glad to hear that getting rid of NoBo seems to have improved Kris's set for you. Though yeah, if you don't like Bright Lights, you don't like it and it wouldn't matter how well Kris did on it.

Erin, I really LOOOOOOOVED your recap!!! For me (for you for me) it's one of the best recaps so far!!!
It is objective, yet personal, shows your favorites without being dismissive to the rest of idols.... PRRRRRRRFECT :)

Erin, I loved this observation.

Pop music isn't family oriented. It's aimed at teens and twenty-somethings and it's supposed to be risque. The artists my generation can name from past generations are not the ones that made parents happy during their time.

I feel the same way. I prefer music and artists that push a few buttons!

Erin, I just love your review! So good to read one from someone young and knowledgeable about current music. And I'm fascinated to see that so many people are attending 3, 4 or even more concerts! Have people done that this much in previous years?

I'm a Brit living in South Africa, and this is only my second year of watching American Idol. Last year I enjoyed David Cook, but would never have dreamed of trying to get to see a concert afterwards, or even buy a CD of his. But this year - whole different story. I've never seen anything quite like Adam and I've never felt like this about a performer of any kind before. I also love Allison and Kris.

So even from so far away, I'm trying to get to 2 concerts myself! I thought I was going to be more sensible and wait for Adam's solo tour, but no way, can't wait until next summer or even longer. I decided that I HAVE to hear him live NOW, no more endless YouTube watching for me (even though I immensely appreciate those vids from so many of you).

Don't know what I'm going to do without even a weekly, not to mention nightly, Adam fix!
How about this - do you think we could persuade him to sing at the Upright Cabaret once a week until he does his solo tour? With somebody doing good quality videos of it? I would pay good money for those, never mind YouTube! :thumbup_tb:

Thanks for this input, Erin. I had been wondering about Atlantic City and you really explained the differences in the audience demographics.
Sounded like Atlantic City was quite interesting.

Lucky you to be able to go to another upcoming show, too! I hope you review that one, too - as we are just hungering for information.

Some of the newspaper reviews are just so silly and it sounds like the reporters don't even go to the shows. It'll be nice to hear a review of someone who has actually seen three shows in three different areas.

***
I'd like to add that my Grandma who is in her 80's has been spending the summer with us.

My Grandma is the one who has encouraged me to listen to these cellcasts and set up the You Tube videos for her to watch - as she simply cannot get enough of Adam.

She loves his singing, and his dancing. And has mentioned the sexy nature of his performances.
She is more of an Adam fan than I am. (And I think he is great!)
She turned 86 this year.

Grandma thinks he is gorgeous. And drives me nuts each night a show is on, as she wants me to sit on the computer each time and and help her set up and read the boards & twitters - as she is not computer savvy and cannot keep up with them.

So, it just depends on your individual tastes and backgrounds as opposed to your age.

As, does everything in life...I guess! Glad we're all not the same.
Wish I could have gotten her to a concert, but don't think she could tolerate the loudness.

Excellent review(s), Erin. I loved the comparisons between the first concert and now this one about midway (midway? Can that be right? Seems like this has been going on forever!)
I especially enjoyed the descriptions of the audiences at both concerts.
And I appreciate the comments from your father. Not sure how old he is, but he sounds something like me and my thoughts on the Adam-Elvis-ah! connection.
