Empire, the FOX freshman hit TV show, posted MASSIVE ratings for Wednesday night’s 2 hour finale.

Wednesday’s two-hour finale delivered 16.5 million viewers and a 6.4 rating among adults 18-49. Also, Empire garnered 2.4 million tweets during the 2 hour telecast.

That’s another series-best performance for Fox’s break-out hip-hop drama – up 10 percent from last week – capping a season full of unprecedented series bests.

Empire managed to grow its viewership for ten consecutive weeks and is the year’s top-rated broadcast drama in the demo.
