I personally wouldn't vote for Simon. Actually if you listen to Paula she gives the best advice and tries to help the contestants altho I have to admit her delivery style is strange sometime. I bet if you ask the contestants, they might say the same. Maybe cause I'm older than most of you, rude and egostistical just don't set well with me.

It depends on the criteria they use for nominating. I only watch AI and AGT, and in both shows, my opinion of "Best Judge" is whomever offers the most helpful commentary. And on both of those shows, I saw the best (and most perceptive) suggestions coming from the two obnoxious British judges: Simon and Piers. Piers had the added bonus of focusing not only on who's the most talented, but who's the best equipped to headline in Vegas (I agree with him that there is a difference).

So even though neither of them would win my vote for "Favorite Person," they would be contenders for "Best Judge."

Would Heidi qualify as a judge even though she's also a host? Confusing category. I agree with everyone who said that it doesn't seem right that reality show judging could merit an Emmy-- it's something which some well-regarded actors and writers strive after for years.

Hahaha--catfight.

I think it should be between Simon and Paula. Simon has come up with some good lines through the years, and how about that face he made watching Fantasia perform last season. But Paula has been a hot mess more than once. From the Corey Clarke scandal to appearing drunk on morning news shows to judging Jason's second song before he performed it, she's tough to beat for entertainment.

I think that is absolutely ridiculous. They are not as worthy as, say, the actors on Lost, or the writers of the Colbert Report. There's no real talent or skill to being a judge. They merely state they're opinion. The voters are their peers--I think the Academy of Television and Radio Artists (or whatever body rules the Emmys) will have a hard time figuring out who should even vote in that category.

If it must happen, then I think the winner should be announced the night they do the technical awards. There are other awards given that night for some kinds of "performances" that are like that. For instance, I believe that Kathy Griffin won an Emmy for her show about just being herself. Also it will be poetic justice because most of those "judges" are really egomaniacs. I'd love for that horrible category to NOT make the national broadcast.

Frankly, if there will be an award for judging reality shows, there should be one for the best contestant too. Then AI would finally win an Emmy.

I think that reality show judges are as Emmy worthy as anyone else on TV. They have a job to do of which some do better then others, and :clap_tb: it would be a nice thing to be recognized for.

Randy Jackson will have mine if he can find another word to add to the vocab.

I don't think any of the reality show judges I can think of -- Simon, Paula, Randy, the Hoff, Sharon Osborn, the obnoxious Brit who sits with them whose name I can't remember, Len, Carrie, Bruno, Nigel, Mary Murphy, Mia Michaels, Adam Shankman -- deserve an Emmy. My opinion is that it's a stupid idea to create an Emmy for this category at all. But I guess Simon has plenty of money to lobby for an award, given the other story posted below.

Who would win among them? Len, I think. He seems to maintain his decorum the best and I would think actors and producers (or whoever is in the Academy) would love the stately DANCMSTR type.
