Emmy 2012 – Outstanding Choreography from SYTYCD, DWTS and Smash (VIDEO)

This morning the Emmy 2012 nominations were announced. In the Outstanding Choreography category, the usual suspects, So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing With The Stars were represented, joined by newbie show, Smash.  Check out routines from all the nominated choreographers.

Canadian contemporary choreographer, Stacey Tookey, Hip Hop choreographer, and The LXD alum, Christopher Scott and Broadway choreographer, Spencer Liff, were nominated from So You Think You Can Dance.

From Stacey Tookey:

In This Shirt was from the SYTYCD 8 Meet the Top 20 episode, and featured the talents of Melanie Moore, Ricky Jaime, Miranda Maleski, and Sasha Mallory.

SYTYCD 8 dancers, Mitchell and Caitlyn, perform a moving routine to Adele’s “Turning Tables”.

SYTYCD 8 contemporary dancers, Sasha and Melenie play suppressed housewives in this piece set to “Heart asks for Pleasure”.

From Christopher Scott:

SYTYCD 8 All Star, Twitch, joined Sasha for a sultry hip hop routine set to the blues tune “Misty Blue.”

The SYTYCD men perform to “Velocity”. It’s like “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” but scary!

From Spencer Liff.

SYTYCD 8 dancers, Melanie and Tadd perform a routine to the Love Story theme.

SYTYCD 8 dancers, Sasha and Marko dance to “Whatever Lola Wants” from Damn Yankees.

SYTYCD 8 dancers, Ashley and Chris perform a steamy routine to “Please Mr. Jailer”

SYTYCD alum and frequent choreographer, Travis Wall and Teddy Forance are nominated for Dancing With the Stars! His nominated routine was a Macy’s Stars of Dance piece, featuring Nick Lazzarini, Teddy Forance, Melanie Moore, Kyle Robinson, Channing Cooke, Chantel, Jaimie Goodwin, Taja Riley, Noelle Marsh, Ryan Ramirez and Kayla Kalbfleisch. Hi SYTYCD dancers! The show dominates, even when it crosses over to DWTS. Heh.

And finally…the newbie Smash! Joshua Bergasse was nominated, but of his three routines– National Pastime, Let’s Be Bad, Never Met a Wolf, I could only find Let’s Be Bad and National Pastime online. NBC obviously was pretty aggressive about taking video down from the freshman show.

Let’s Be Bad

And a “ghetto” video of National Pastime
