To me, a ‘true performer’  in nature in a pop concert is simply a showman who can bring forth visual effects with auditory pleasures. While Kris Allen is definitely a great musician and singer (note I am by no means trying to compare their (Adam and Kris) vocal abilities because to me they are both immensely talented). Kris to me is not a “true performer” because there is no DRAMA/Theatrical effects when he performs. The same goes true for James Taylor, John Mayer and Keith Urban. They are all great singers and all have sell out concerts so of course they are entertaining. The entertainers that I would categorize as ‘true performers’  are Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Madonna, Justin Timberlake and Adam Lambert just to name a few. JMHO

And so it goes.

A word to the fans, please do not scream while the performer is singing. We are there to hear them sing first and foremost. It is disrespectful/distracting to the performer and to the fans. Scream all you want between songs but not during. I hope Adam can enforce this when he has his solo tour.

I agree EK about the screaming. Just do it between songs and before and after. It’s a shame not to hear the singing! I also think signs should be banned as well. They block too many people’s view.

think my answer for people who scream all throughout songs, if not physical violence, is just to bring a duck call.

brilliant, LOL……nothing wrong w. having a good time (dancing, groving, standing, clapping, cheering, singing along)…HOWEVER, screaming in my ear throughtout the whole set? grrrrrrrrrrr…where’s that duck call?

Chillax y’all. Just have a beverage and enjoy the show. Heck yeah I screamed. I went to the tour to support the Idols and I couldn’t sit back on my hands and be quiet. Whoever can sit still and be quiet through Matt’s Hard to Handle and Adam’s Whole Lotta Love has a lot of self restraint that I don’t have. ;-P

Gosh, I’m not seeing it ‘ ¦ the videos from the NC shows are great ‘ ¦ maybe this perception is colored by the ‘adam’s not coming out because he’s not feeling well’ reporting.

Well from the limited Greensboro videos we have, he’s definitely dialed down on his vocals. WLL still has the high notes but it’s a lot less frequent than the previous performances. In the Bowie performance it’s very obvious that he’s improvising mostly on his lower register. I do believe he is having a cold.

But as far as his vocals being “weak” in his other earlier performances, I’m not seeing it at all.

I’ve noticed that Adam looks really exhausted and his voice sounds weak lately. It doesn’t surprise me that he couldn’t deliver his best performances.

REALLY?! He’s absolutely amazing … I didn’t know that so my admiration for him continues to grow. Matt’s a great entertainer and his set was so exciting!

Great review! I just wanted to say something about Matt that I’m not sure many people know. He’s self taught and only been playing the piano for 5 years. I totally agree w/ your statement that he’s a genius on the keys. & I love his falsetto. His talent is amazing and God-given. I’m so proud of him! I hope he continues to impress you and so many others!

To make a long rant short (yes, too late I know), I’m afraid he’s being set up for failure and will be done in by his own success.

Oh, come on, NatX … if you’ll recall, you were dubbed Natbert after your review so I think even you are falling under the Adam spell! The first step toward healing is admission – so admit it! All I have to say is that at the concert I attended, I spent the entire time of Adam’s set whispering Paula/Kara-isms: OMG, absolutely breathtaking, we’ll see you in the finals, who has a range like that?, who sings like that? With all of his training in theatre, one thing you can be sure of is Adam doesn’t disappoint! Oops, I’ll probably get deleted … but I’m not attacking you! You’ve proven that you can take it!!
